Yeah, everybody seems to think that this book is going to be the next Walking Dead, which is the main reason for the high prices right now.

First, has anyone gotten $500 for a #1. I know what is being asked, but will it sell. Secondly, and more important, how many books since 1990 command $100 or more 3 years after they have come out? I am a veteran of the speculation market. it comes in hot and then dies. if you buy then before they get hot and dump then at the right point, you win. If you pay bucks( $20 or more) then most likely you die. I hope you made money on the ones you got, but if you bought a lot, I hope you win. Sorry if I seem down, but as most old timers I've been burnt by what's hot. better to save your pennies and buy a reasonably priced Zap 1 in any condition.

I suppose if they make the comic into a movie, a novel, a video game, a lunch box (with thermos) and a set of scented erasers it will have some serious investment potential.

The suggestion was for a quick flip, not an investment as I agree many of the flash comics are up and then down.  I was just suggesting picking a couple up for cover price and flipping them in a few weeks to make a few extra bucks.  Just ride the hype wave on this one for a short thrill.  But most are talking about it say it's got a good concept and I liked the writing so for, so I think this one might have some legs.

Interestingly I realized that the print run is very similar to TMNT.  The first printing of TMNT #1 of that was 3,000 then the 2nd print of #1 was 6,000 and the first print of #2 was 15,000 (if I recall correctly), starting from issue #3 it went in the 50,000 and up range.  With Chew, it's reported that the first print of #1 is 6,000 (which goes for $50 in raw NM and $200 in 9.8 already), the first print of #2 is 6,000 and the 2nd print of #1 is 3,000 (which comes out Wednesday so you might want to stop by your LCS and have them hold a copy or two for you if you've got the chance as I think it might get near the 1st printings value quickly).  Next month, issue #3, as well as #1 (3rd print) and #2 (2nd print), will be out early August and will probably have much higher print runs.

As for a movie, seems studios grab what's hot, so there's always a chance and with all the comic book movies being made now it wouldn't surprise me, this might be interesting watching and actor eat a rotting human finger to get some psychic impressions.

While I was joking around with the previous post, it's entirely possible that a movie could be made from this. And, if successful, I don't see why the comic wouldn't continue to rise in value, or at least hold its own.

Called around and none of my local shops are even ordering this title.
Seems like a flash in the pan to me.....But I've only been doing this since 1977.

It sounds interesting, but I think I'll wait for the collected edition, since it appears to be a 5 issue series. I also tend to think that when it gets published, interest in the single issues will dissipate. Of course Walking Dead does appear to disprove that theory, but maybe the collected edition will have it's own collectibility as per the Miracleman volumes, etc. Then again maybe not, and it'll just make a decent twisted noirish like read.

Actually it's an ongoing series, the first arc is 5 issues and that's what's stated on the cover, but that's just the first part.  Writer has stated he hoped if it became popular to do at least 50 issues.
