| I'm not trying to promote my listing since I'm going to yank it off ebay in the next day or two. Just wondering what you would think it would sell for? We are going broke by the minute and I have probably close to 300 CGC books now. I have such a hard time parting with them. My wife worked for Suntrust bank for years and we have watched her 401k CRASH! Times are hard but selling comics is even harder. Anywho, like I said just wondering what this lot is worth. I just took a random select group of books of mine. The ebay item # is 290327671310

Ya know...I think part of the problem is listing it all together... ...and the fact that the books that grade less than perfect still have umpteen million copies available...not to say that sometime in the future the supply/demand may level out...but right now, with sooo many people needing extra money...it's definitely a buyer's market.Several of those would probably do much better on their own with out all the baggage... I've always felt slabbed books were sorth at least $20 each 'cause that's what it generally costs to get them slabbed...but two years ago at WW-Chicago there was a table of nothing but slabbed, hi-grade, what I would call "common" books...the first day I seem to recall he wanted $20 each for them...Saturday it was something like 2/$20...by Sunday afternoon he ws selling them for 3/$15 with even better deals if you took a whole box... I had to catch a plane, so I had to pass them by... I thought you couldn't stop an auction once you had bids??? Check your PM's...

| Yeah you can end a auction even with bids as long as you do it before it hits the last 12 hours. If it has less than 12 your screwed.

| I do totally agree with you in regards to "listing it in a lot" Most people are looking for 1 particular book and I might have it but they dont need the other 12. Like I said, I really do not want to sell them, but Jesus man, our 401k are shot to hell, my stock in Tyco ele is down to nothing, my entire retirement is pretty much gone. I probably have 10 grand in comics that I wanted to save till the last kid was out the house before I sold them. (The youngest is 3) Yeah I know. I'd probably be better off holding them just like you said "a buyers market" which I say that all the time. It is a lot more true now than lets say 3 years ago.

I hear ya!...My wife use to work in management for Washington Mutual...we watched her 401k implode to a quarter of what it had been (mine was a little more diverse...I only lost 20%)...then last August when Chase reared it's ugly head they canned her... The only consolation was that we dumped most of our WAMU stock when it was $50 a share and watched all of our friends and her co-workers hang on to it until it hit $1 a share... 5 months of unemployment and she scored a position with our local university...sadly at half of what she brought home previously...but a lot less stress and headaches... Check your PM's and post a list of the books in the "Want List" forum without prices...maybe the membership will offer you amounts you can live with through PMs and email only... I don't think anyone will quibble over postings in the want list forum for people that want to find good homes for their books...just remember: no prices and no negotiating in the forums...just off site. Good luck...and Keep the Faith!
