The following post is one that has been moved from a prior spot, so some of it may make little sense, but the gist is that I am happy that there is now a forum for fans of the bound volume and I will be sure to post all future projects, wishful and real here in their proper spots. Thanks for making it happen Shadow, I salute you and yours and your bound volumes!!!!
Shadow, I am envious of those bound volumes you got there, as I'm a Nancy/Ernie Bushmiller fan from way back! If you ever wish to part with your Fritzi run, please don't hesitate to contact me! A very nice score indeed.
Since there's no thread on this board that I can see devoted to bound volumes of comics, I'd like to take this opportunity in this thread to show off some of my own. I'm a bit of a fanatic for Marvel's Not Brand Echh as #7 was the first comic I ever owned, when my Dad came home with it when I was ill, and had no idea what kind of comic book I would like, as this was a new concept in my development. I've had two runs bound, as illustrated below. One was a volume containing all thirteen issues, while the other run was split into 2 volumes, the first being the 8 12 cent issues and the second being the 5 25 cent issues. A fellow at another board offered to create a dust jacket for the full run volume, and I was quite thrilled to take him up on his offer, and was quite pleased with the result. I haven't made a dj for the 2 volume set, as the bindings are quite fetching, especially when one pulls them off the shelf for the first time, not expecting the results, as they look quite plain when just the spines are exposed. The last scan is the volume of Comic Art Magazine, issues 1-6, I had bound. There are two inside pockets at the front and at the rear to hold the comic strip inserts that came with those first 6 issues. I thought it was quite an exceptional magazine, and preferred to have it sitting on my shelf rather than in some box or rack.....Anyways, I know these books have nothing to do with Golden Age, but if a thread is ever created for bound volumes, perhaps these pix can migrate there...but until then, here is my collection of bound volumes as it currently stands!

Next up I plan to have either the first 10 issues of Plop! bound into one volume, as I think it'll be a cool tome since those issues had no advertisements, or I'm going to do a 2 volume set of the DC title from the 1990's, Wasteland, that was mostly written by Del Close and Jon Ostrander, since the odds of that run being reprinted anytime soon is pretty slim. Guess we'll have to start a DC thread in this sub-forum. Later on I may have some Undergrounds bound or my 3 issue run of Frazetta's White Indian, which are in fair to good condition and ripe to be bound!

DeadOne (6/20/2009) wpbooks,

Why thank you Dead,
It's a shame that you can only see the books, as the textures on the bindings are quite seductive, as well. More so on the leopard patterns with their felt like fuzziness. The single volume version is bound with a very tactile pattern as well, but it's not nearly as nice to hold in one's hand as the 2 volume version or the Comic Art volume.
