Yukon Komix, another item I found mention of while rooting around for other things. Evidently, there were two issues published:

Yukon Komix #1 (1978, John Lodder)
'Sparky' Dog of the North #2, Yukon Komix Presents (1978, John Lodder)

The University of Alberta had a copy of #2 in their collection (here), however, when I sent a request to have them scan it, through the university I work at, they replied saying that it is missing from their collection. Great.

A couple of details on #2 were:

General Note: Not recommended for children.
Summary: Satiric cartoons by Yukon resident John Lodder.

I tried finding John Lodder, but all I managed to come up with was this page:

John Lodder
cartoonist

Lodder is the creator of "Yukon Komix," an underground, pipeline-era comic.

Upon e-mailing the editor of the site, I was informed that no contact info was on file.

So, it looks like another two Canadian comix than Kennedy failed to include in his guide. I'm really very curious to see what these look like, if anyone has either of them.

Since you don't have a scan of either, here's a link with a scan of #1.

"Oddball, quirky, unprofessionally drawn comic from the "Yukon's hippie age," the 1970s. Purchased new in Whitehorse in 1979 (don't know where), I have never seen another copy or heard talk of one. I had thought it was anti-pipeline when i bought it, but the story merely presents the pipeline as an invasion from Outside, with the metaphor of the pipeline and other modern conveniences from "Megalopolis" (Glaum being the drug overlord) akin to offerings of a drug lord. A slob trapper discovers animals getting high on fumes from a pierced pipeline, and attempts to get rich off his discovery. Clever and clumsy in one package. Although the endpaper shows komix no. 2 set to address "The ghastly spectre of gun control," it is unknown if that book ever saw the press ("published when I've got the time money and inclination." A lark...or, rather, a ptarmigan."

Looks like there is a reference to both issues in John Bell's Canuck Comics (1986), but I don't have a copy.

Thanks! Another one for the ever-growing want list.

You know, it's funny, I posted about Bell's book awhile back, but never managed to get my own copy. I placed an order for one yesterday, after reading about YK. I'm looking forward to seeing what else is listed.
