Brother J (5/29/2009) Zero #1 to add to the other three issues, seemed like a good price:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220424148026
I guess the price was too good to be true, the seller apparently has no clue as how to mail comics. He stuck it loosely between two thin pieces of cardboard and put packing tape all around the edges. Not only was the cardboard too thin which meant the book got bent all to heck, but since the seller put the book in between the cardboard with no protection (not even a plastic bag), the book slid down and into the tape. The book neatly attached it's back cover to the tape and now cannot be removed from the packaging without ripping off the top of the back cover.

That sucks...
Here, anyone notice the glaring tell on the FB #2's (that I suspect are 1st prints) yet (center, 1/4 of the way up)?
All copies I've come across are matte paper stock covers. They all have the ad too (from the 4th print on UGComix.info).

Now you know the cover tell I discovered (white line just above the pink piece of paper) and you can find them on your own without looking inside.

So, am I missing something?? What makes the white spot under Fat Freddy a 1st, instead of a 4th? If all copies with the ad have it, then wouldn't it just make it easier to identify a 4th without having to open the book? I'm not following the logic as to how you've come to the conclusion it's the first. Do you feel that it was a flaw that got corrected, instead of one that showed up later due to the plates becoming aged in that spot, and then later corrected for subsequent printings?

| You can take it either way, if you want to see it as a 4th print, then it's a 4th print that has the white mark.

I'm confused Mr. Cent, as I thought on the other thread you made the observation that the version with the Dealer McDope ad was the first through a variety of tried and true means, and now I'm gleaning from your research that the cover 'blemish' is the way to 'tell' it without opening the book. Yet the 'blemish' also appears on the version with the rainbow IFC AND the version that WAS the 4th, acc. to UGComix, the blue IFC....So if I can look at it as a 4th or a 1st is there something else which causes you to conclude the old UGComix 4th is a 1st and Who is on 1st??????

| You'll have to wait until SDCC for me to write up something else or figure it out yourself, sorry. But it all works out in the end.

| Sadly, I've never been to the SDCC. I'm curious, how does one go about presenting such findings while there? Is there some sort of copyright process going on?

| I just made photocopies of what I wrote up and passed them out to the big Underground comix dealers and if anyone had questions I tried to answer them with the Zap Comix #2, then posted the findings on the old forum here. Last year, I just showed a few people (Good Dr., Dan, Eggs) my copies of Big *** #1 to show the differences in page order (then found a nice first/second print of Big *** #1 that would have been an upgrade for me, but let Egg's buy it for around $20 from an unknowning dealer) and I posted the findings in writing on the ex-UG forums. Hopefully someone copied them as the site is gone... So it's not something "Official", but more of a date to release the info. and a location.
