I find that buying graded can lead to quite a bit of an unnecessary price bump. Sometimes its a bit better to trust a much cheaper non-graded with the off chance that the grade will be high. Its quite a fun gamble if the price is affordable

The price bump was not so bad in this case. Also, I was having a hard time finding this particular book in acceptable condition at a reasonable price (under $20). I figured, for $10 extra, I might as well get the CGC slab.
The X-Men #137 that I purchased for $22 I am very happy with. I would not have found a raw one that looked this nice for less without going nuts.
At this point, I am willing to spend a little bit more on these things just because I want to finish this Dark Phoenix run, but I am less willing to gamble on a raw "NM", so I figure I will just add a few dollars and get a CGC one.
