Here's something interesting I came across. The Lynn Hansen collection at the Washington State University(Pullman) if anyone in the area wants to do some research.

| Yeah, I want that copy of Readers Digest X that they have, damnit! That's been high on my want list for too long now. Not only do I love the college publications, but items that Kennedy missed (e.g., Doldrum Funnies, Mormal Comics) due to their regional obscurity are oh-so-delicious.

I was looking at that site a few days ago and cringed when I came across
These underground comics, or comix (the "x" indicates "X-rated")
But it's definitely a nice collection. Steve Willis also donated hundreds (maybe thousands) of mini-comix to WSU over the years. He began their "counter-culture comix" collection when he worked there and the collection has had one or more name changes since then. I mention it because I think it's even possible that the Willis collection and Lynn Hansen collection may have been merged together (they were friends although this possible merging would have been just coincidence, I believe). I couldn't determine that for sure last week and Willis himself has lost track of what they've done with it (although I didn't go so far as contacting the library).
I have the full catalog (and addendums) that Willis published himself in the mid '80s and have actually been thinking about reprinting them in a small run.

I almost forgot about this curiosity in their collection.
Sunfighter Comix #0001
August 1973, Cheapo Comix Company
Description: 11 leaves, bound : ill. ; 27 cm.
Note: Cover title: The original Sun Fighters comixs.
Summary: Original, hand-drawn comic by a San Francisco cartoonist on the topic of the Jefferson Airplane.
I'm not sure what to make of this. Is it a one-of-a-kind comic? The summary sort of implies that. I'd really like to take a look it, whatever it is.

| The underground comix collection at WSU was started when a faculty member donated a small bunch of undergrounds. It was expanded to include minicomix when Steve Willis worked at the WSU library in the early to mid-1980s. After ug comix collector Lynn Hansen died, his collection went to WSU as well. I think Steve once told me that Lynn's father had been a university librarian so I guess it was appropriate that the comix would wind up in a college library collection.

Let's hope they don't do this to their undergrounds...
