Hmmm...

What about Harry Osborn?  He's back working for dad now, so might take up some role in the Avengers.

Don't worry Tex, you're not the only one who's been enjoying ASM lately.

  Hey Gilight!!

How are you? I think that you're right, May's getting married in 600...but I can do without more of her love scenes, LOL!! I keep seeing posters and ads showing Spidey getting his butt kicked by Norman Osborn. I never like to see Spidey eat it...but something big is coming and if it goes the way everything else in Dark Reign is going, Spidey may end up being crippled or something.

I do not like this Dark Reign. It feels weird, and ASM is one of the few titles where the focus is not really on Dark Reign. Spidey's focus is really on the craziness that his life has become after Brand New Day. The writing is light and funny, the adventures quick, cool, and well drawn...it's a breath of fresh air in the midst of all this Dark Reign stuff. I'd hate to lose that.

I think that you hit the nail on the head murch! Harry's going to be the American Son. Son of the Iron Patriot: American Son.

How do you think that it will work out murch? I don't know if I like it. I'd like to see Flash Thompson finally become a super-hero. He's really changed and he deserves it.

Don't worry Tex, you're not the only one who's been enjoying ASM lately.

  Great minds think alike...

Well, I think with this current arc, that Spidey is going to be drawn into Dark Reign big time.  I haven't read any of the related titles up to this point, so I'm not up to speed on the whole Dark Reign thing (but I'll probably pick up Mr. Negative & Sinister Spider-Man).  I'm not a huge fan of the big events that Marvel's cooked up in the past, and I'm not going to buy into this one either.

I think Spidey's battle with Norman is going to get a lot more personal too.  Last issue Spidey kinda screwed up when he was fighting Norman and let some things slip that he shouldn't have.

I think with Harry going to work for his father, he's got something up his sleeve.  He's not had much time for Norman lately, so I can't imagine he's just going to forgive him for a paycheque.

I can see him maybe becoming the "American Son", but then trying to topple Norman's empire from the inside.  We've seen hints of Harry becoming a hero in the past, and I think this is probably his time.  What I don't know is if he'll survive the whole thing.  I can't see the American Son character becoming a mainstay in the Marvel U.  Harry was expendable before, so nothing's stopping him from being expendable again.

About Flash, yeah, I'd love to see them do something with that character, but I don't think this is it.  It would be cool if they just included him more as a supporting character in Pete's circle.  I think Marvel took some heat over the whole Flash in Iraq thing though, so maybe they're trying to steer clear for a while.

Time (and the next few issues) will tell I guess.

Hello murch!

  How's it going?

murch (6/2/2009)
Well, I think with this current arc, that Spidey is going to be drawn into Dark Reign big time.  I haven't read any of the related titles up to this point, so I'm not up to speed on the whole Dark Reign thing (but I'll probably pick up Mr. Negative & Sinister Spider-Man).  I'm not a huge fan of the big events that Marvel's cooked up in the past, and I'm not going to buy into this one either.

Hmmm. Sinister Spider-Man sounds interesting! I'm gonna cop that one. I'm with you, Dark Reign and the Skrull Invasion didn't catch me. The only big events that I liked were The Korvac Saga (I get light-headed just thinking about it), Fall of the Mutants, DC's the AWESOME Crisis on Infinite Earths and of course, Blackest Night. That's it.

I think Spidey's battle with Norman is going to get a lot more personal too.  Last issue Spidey kinda screwed up when he was fighting Norman and let some things slip that he shouldn't have.

I think that you are right. He was too concerned about Harry. Osborne probably nows exactly who he is now...or has some clue. He might start striking out at Harry's friends covertly in hopes of killing Spidey. This'll probably end up in the death of JJ's father somehow. Spidey's about to feel the burn.

Agreed. But how dirty is he willing to get? He's dating the new Goblin and she's preggers. I think that Harry's on his way to further destabilization.

I dunno. I've really grown to like what Flash has become. Maybe he'll be there to catch Pete when Osborne gives him what-for. I hope they develop him further and use him.

Time (and the next few issues) will tell I guess.

Agreed. I'm all in brother.

  Hmmm.

Why do you say that Gilight? Is there something about Flash that bugs you, or think that Flash can't be developed into a more fruitful character?
