Aria Press was started by Collen Doran, the creator and artist of the title. Originally published by Warp, some sort of falling out occurred, and Doran chose to self-publish the story. This was a relaunch of the story, and not just a continuation from the Warp Graphics series. Doran started self-publishing in 1991, and in 1996, Image comics began publishing the title. There have been a number of tpbs issued of the various books, and series from the other publishers under the Image banner. Collen Doran has not limited herself to the Distant Soil title. She has also done work on a number of different projects and publishers. These include Book of Lost Souls from Marvel, and Orbiter from DC/Vertigo. The Library of Graphic Novelists has even published a volume featuring her. The CPG database currently lists 1 title with 19 issues (including multiple printings). It is thought at least 2 trade paperbacks exist that were released under the Aria Press banner, however I have not found concrete evidence of this. | The 2 trade paperbacks I was looking into were published by Starblaze/Donning. One was listed, the other has just been added. I will not include them in the official publisher total, however one should keep them in mind if looking to complete this set. I am now up to 7 books for this publisher. Aria Press Checklist A Distant Soil: 1-14 Issue 1 went to 4 printings. Issues 2, 3 and 4 all had 2 printings. This makes a total of 20 issues. Member Collections: Argus...7
