Anyone else think the current Wolverine release schedule is crazy? They released issue #73 today and next week issue #72 comes out. Week after that is issue #74, so take note Marvel counts 73-72-74. To make me more upset, issue 72 is part of the Old Man Logan story which has been amazing ( I really like it). But 73 is an entirely different story, or precisely the first half of 2 separate stories which are finished in issue 74. So they to 2 stories, chopped them up and sprinkled them around to make 2 issues.
Then when 72 finally does come out, it won't finish the story line, that is going to be in some special with no current scheduled release date.
And the issue 75 turns the title to Dark Wolverine, so its not even Logan's book anymore.
Maybe its just me, but this all seems really messed up. One of the fundamentals in comics is sequence, books have issue numbers for a reason.
Can anyone else think of a book that released out of order?
O well, I feel better having vented, thanks for reading my ramblings, I am gonna go read some Vertigo series.

| Good ol' Joey Q... I blame it all on him. I had an argument about continuity before (which I guess most people don't care about), but this is ridiculous. But doesn't affect me, I don't collect Wolvie titles. When I saw that he had so many titles, and his character had been messed with so much over the years, I didn't want to waste my money. I actually had #1 thru about #40 back when he got his first solo title, those were good... but then it didn't take long before you could see everyone wanting to mess with history. One more reason I stopped collecting back in the early 90's. As for issues being out of whack, I was reading Doc Strange vol.2 not long ago... mid-teens issues had covers for the next months story, or so it looked like it. Was kinda weird. (Even for the Master of the Mystic Arts. )

I totally agree with you slaymaster I stopped collecting in the nineties as well because Wolvie was messed with the only recent purchase that I made is the Wolverine end TBP because it sounds interesting.
Too many convoluted story arcs that I noticed in the second volume and now I read they have a third volume best if I quit while I'm way behind.

I advocate buying the trades when they come out instead. This type of bullsheet doesn't affect you. It seems like a strange new twist on an old song, release dates have always been screwy but this is something else entirely. Very weird of Marvel, is there any sort of purpose to releasing #73 before #72?

As for the numbers out of sequence, you can't mess that up. I don't care how big the business is, how hectic, who's on drugs, who isn't on drugs (but should be)... it has to be a gimmick. Plain and simple.

| First, Spawn did this years ago, early on, when a planned crossover wasn't ready, so it's been done before. Second, it's not a gimmick. Old Man Logan wasn't ready(big suprise given the creative team involved ). Marvel wanted a storyline on the stands that was easy to jump into to try to take advantage of movie interest. If books are resolicited because of creative team changes, story description changes,or delays, store owners can change their order amounts or be refunded. The publishing out of sequence thing is a loophole they are using to basically screw the LCS owners. So I guess it is kind of a gimmick, just not like you meant. The problem is that any non-comic reader that did come in to a LCS because of the movie is now going to be totally confused. #73 comes out before #72 and #74 has part of one storyline and part of another. Who would want to get involved in an hobby that does business that way?
