Thinking of things that have caught my interest at Marvel lately to bother writing about and this is one of them. Basically Doc Strange comes back after being gone for about a year and is tasked with finding his replacement. I'm not remembering exactly what was so bad about what he did to strip himself of the title but I do remember him saving the New Avengers in some abuse of his power.

He's got a bit of listing of people he has to audition of sorts. Billy from the Young Avengers, The Hood, Brother Voodoo I think a couple others. Latest issues has him checking out Son of Satan, haven't seen that character used in ages. Somewhat interesting storyline to me. I don't like Doc Strange giving up his title much though.

I was this close to dropping New Avengers and this new storyline caught my eye.

If its not Dr. Doom or Wiccan, im dropping it. Basically if it sucks, im through. Ive been through with New Avengers since about CW anyways,.

Funny, I also got close to dropping this book and have been drawn in to this story.

As for the new Sorcerer Supreme, Doom would be a fun choice to read.

I don't like Doctor Strange not being Sorceror Supreme either,

If he's not the SS anymore, what'll they do with his character? Will he be like DC's Oracle, a source of information (mystic info)? Or will they push the easy button and kill him off?

I'm almost positive that Dr. Doom will be the new SS; it goes along with the "Dark Reign" storyline. Besides, Doom's been showing a little conscience lately, more benevolent wisdom. Maybe it's his time.

I heard Amanda Sefton, aka 'Magik' will be the next Sorcerer (Sorceress) Supreme...

just kidding.

I don't know who's next, but if it ain't mind blowing and someone 'good', then they better stick with Stephen. Which would make it even better, having him make a comeback of sorts and being better than ever. (Ask me, Marvel oughta bring back Englehart or Claremont to do Doc... reading the vol.2 right now, and I like it! )

Well looks like its not Son of Satan or the Hood for sure now. Could it be Brother Voodoo?

Hello Icebreaka,

  How are you?

I like Brother Vodoo. He's cool as heck. Didja see how he handled the latest Hulk/Wendigo problem? If Doctor Strange is the James Bond of magic, Brother Voodoo is Scott McCoy (Chuck Norris in Delta Force), less known but more lethal. I'd love to see Brother Voodoo as Sorceror Supreme...or Doc Doom.

Doc Strange has become unworthy - maybe Doc Doom will be the new guy...

Can someone explain how this grading system works where Strange fails and Doom gets a passing mark?

Is Bizarro secretly running the Marvel Universe? That would also explain Green Goblin is running SHIELD (now HAMMER) and why Loki is a chick.

You know Robbie,

I don't know. I mean Doc Strange used black magic to save the New Avengers and that made him unworthy. Maybe he wasn't supposed to compromise, or take the easy way out. Maybe he was supposed to be better than he was and find a way not to transact with the very force that he was fighting. Heck, for all we know, if Doc was truly at the top of his game, the balance of power would never have shifted in the Marvel universe in the first place.

  But I'm reaching.

Imagine this: the shift in the balance of power to the dark side in the Marvel universe could mean that the power of the Sorceror Supreme should shift to someone who is of the dark side as well: Dr. Doom. Or maybe it should shift to someone like Brother Voodoo, a man who walks a thin line between the light and the dark (more dark than light in my opinion), but who is strong enough to not lose himself in the dark arts.

It'll be very cool to watch this unfold.

The Spidey / Obama issue was huge - bet an Obama / Bro Voodoo Soc Supreme cover would be as good as printing cash.
