I've been trying to get my hands on the 4 Pressman variants for years.

Uncanny 297,303,307 and X-men 11 for anyone who is curious.

I have 3 copies of 303 and got lucky in finding a copy of #11, but have been unable to locate #297 and #307.

I can't help but wonder if anyone else has seen copies for sale and if so, what prices have you seen. I think the books are under valued in the guide.

Check out this insanity

Edit: Someday the auction will stop showing so making a note, CGC 9.8 final sale at $536.

STL forums has a thread of posted historical eBay sales. Nuts what people will pay for a reprint.

The thread is a bit dated, but a good read.

And yes, it is nuts what I'm gonna have to pay for a reprint.

They are the sort of thing I would like to add if I can find affordable copies but I won't lose sleepif I don't add them to my collection.

All of the ones I have, I found in discount bins at comic shows or shops. Its always exciting to pick up a comic from a shop when they don't know what they have.

My love of Uncanny and the many variants can be a budget buster. Still haven't decided if I'm gonna track down the price variants some day.

My Wife can't understand why I have to have the variants but in all honesty neither do i. Having said that I am adding variants to my collection, although I will probably stop short of the price Variants. Being in England I have a number of Pence variants but I will add all the cents variants so that where I have pence copies I will eventually have the cents version but will not always have tha pence variant where I have the Cents (If you get what I mean).

The Guide price on Uncanny 307 pressman variant really is too low. The book is fetching much higher prices when it comes to market.

Recent eBay sales:

$25.62 for a 6.5 copy
$51.00 for a 9.2 copy

Granted the grades are given by the seller, but guide lists this book at $14 in NM and makes a note that a raw book sold for $42 in 2008.

I'm going to keep an eye on this (I'm trying to get a copy for myself), but the guide appears behind true value on this one.

I feel the prices on the others aren't quite right either, so I'll update here when they sell.

I appreciate the heads up, been watching that book all week. I'll add its sales price to this thread when it closes. Going to a comic convention this weekend, so probably won't bid on this one, don't want to dip into my budget for the weekend.
