Well I can see how it looks a little shady and I have learned to be more detailed about the specifics of the restore I'm doing. Also learned marriages are frowned apon so the ASM 7 I'm working on will not get a married back cover . I also will not be doing customers comics unless the work needed done is something I am already good at. So far those are dry cleaning. pressing and CT although I wil;l be backing off of CT as less is more.

Yeesh people are pretty hard on this guy. He's clearly charging very low pricing and doing it because he wants to. I don't think there's some huge crime being committed here. The repairs wouldn't fool any serious collectors so what's the harm. He's not taking high value books from VG to VF or anything either. I think some of you guys are taking the hobby a little too seriously.

I have to agree with Ice here.

MasterCPU likes doing what he is doing and isn't trying to scam anyone here so what is the beef?

He has given more info about what he is doing than I have seen a lot of people give and he is only doing it for the love of the comics and not to make a massive profit.

I have been in retail for 12 years and I have seen some horrendous things done in order to screw the last penny from people. This isn't one of them.

If he had said, "I have restored a Hulk 104 from VG to NM and sold it to a kid with down syndrome for $80,000 above guide price," then you could complain about what he is doing but I see none of that.

What I have seen is someone restoring a comic for fun and taking us through the process of how they did it. When he was called on it for not explaining something, he went back and explained it. He has taken money for similar services but only from people who were happy with what he offered. He hasn't claimed to be an expert and demanded tons of cash from people or cited his threads as tutorials.

Keep up the good work MasterCPU.

Thanks for the support I'm trying the best I can. I'm still a comic newbie in a lot of respects so I will be making plenty of mistakes along the way. The guys at CGC got me afraid to pick up a brush. LoL I will post some new stuff soon but will be picking the stuff that comes out well. Some stuff is waiting for supplies. Some stuff I just forget to take before scans.

Well the hulk 181 had the stamp cut out so I figured its a 1.8 and looked up the value and was like $20 and I didnt know any better. these guys who send these know my abilities and are very happy with the scans and price. He only had to pay for the stamp as I dont have those laying around. I will have that stamp this week BTW and will post scans when done. I orderd the 1st book with stamp in Pr from mycomicshop and guess what was missing? LoL

Don't get me wrong CPU I'm a big fan of you taking an interest in this and I actually enjoy watchig you do what you do.  It's the effects of enterig more amteur restoration into the market place that I have a problem with. So don't mistake this for something it's not.  If you purchased a book for hundreds of dollars and later found out it was worth considerably less because of undetected restoration you would understad.  Did you ever see Magic Dan's TMNT PGX slab cracking?  That's what it's like.  That's exactly what it's like.  But like I said I do like seeing what you're doing on these books.

Yeah disclosure is the biggest issue and as lomg as the comic is changing hands eventully someone is gonna get scamed which is why I wish restored comics had equal value then people wouldnt be upset. I am almost ready to offer sealed hard cases which would help but I bet most people wont want it even though its only $5 for case.
