Wonderbread is bread. You want a polymer eraser from art store in white. pressing is done under heat and pressure from a full size iron press also known as a dry press. A iron with a clamp can get out some small stuff like a roll or a crease but whole comic pressing should be done with cover off in a full press although I press some comics with cover on like this hulk. I try to avoid staple removal if I can as it wears on the comic doing that. Problem with pressing whole comic is you either damage it or you don't get as much defects out as you would with cover off. There is a debate weather pressing with cover on is considered professional but I think thats other restores trying to put down the everyday presser.

Wow, this is all very interesting. I gave the erasing method a try and worked like a charm on a white cover comic I have. It got blackened somehow, so this makes it look much nicer. Only thing is that it makes the spine creases show more. Even on white comics the color can break on the spine from a crease. Makes the white into super white. Oh well. I think I bumped it up to VF+. It has 4 spine creases and it is no longer dirty. I also removed what I thought was a slice in the comic, but ended up being a pencil mark. I don't know how all this got on the book. The comic was never read or touched. Must have bought it that way and never noticed it.

Now, how can wonderbread work? That makes absolutely no sense. It's bread...

Pressing would be great, but I have no way of re-stapling the comics. I would have to use the same staple and do it by hand. Not to mention the closest thing I have to a press would have to be the thing I make roasts in. I guess I could throw it in the oven and put it on the comic with a towel between. It weights 20 pounds, so if I put extra pressure, it should do the trick. Two ceramic tiles might work as well... Now to find my Incredible Hulk #239
