These are the last of the bunch sent to CGC. All Lay Flat, no spine roll and no hidden defects.

Fantasy Quarterly #1 White pages (newsprint)

One of my favorites: Firestorm 1 Off-white no hidden defects.

X-men #100 White pages

And finally, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #1 First print, Off-white pages

These are my grades:

Fantasy Quarterly #1/ 9.4

Firestorm #1/ 9.4

X-Men #100/ 9.0

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #1/ 7.0

I also sent in two John Byrne Next Men #21's and two X-Men 267's. All four are so flawless that I have no doubt's that they should receive 9.8 (higher than that could be possible).

Again expect the official CGC result in about a month. In the meantime, thank you all for taking a looksie.

-Dan

I would say your grades are what I would give. Above 9.0 I'm sorta guessing.

Hey MD ... your grades seem right on to me.
I love that Firestorm book also (very cool).
Now you're sure that Ninja Turtles is a first printing (lol)

HAHAAHAHAAA----yeah, I've taken interior shots of the Gobbledygook #1 & #2 ad, too. I'm so much the wiser...PGX never again. I won't ever even bring myself to purchasing a PGX'd book. Hindsight, Hindsight, Hindsight.

Thanks, DeadOne.

Nice comics! Firestorm looks like the best of the bunch.

Fantasy Quarterly looks to have some damage, but tough to determine with scans...

I see 5 spine stresses, possibly 6 and light soiling. Also corners are not perfect. This one can possibly grade as low as 8.5, but I think 9.0/9.2 is more likely. To me it is still near mint regardless of the grade it receives.

Still have no idea how CGC grades. I've seen examples of books graded 8.0 that appear perfect and books graded 9.4 that have obvious flaws.

However, from what I gather, they changed their grading standards and newer submissions tend to be graded more strictly except if graded for Wizard or Heritage

Just got the CGC grade for that TMNT #1 first print...

8.5!!!!

I asked to have the operator repeat that number because I thought she made a mistake. I even said that, "Are you sure you have the right book up?"

I thought I was stretching a bit at my grade of 7.0. but I guess I might actually be too harsh on comic grading. I'm so stoked! From a replacement copy to a total upgrade of a whole point and a half. CGC shipped it out yesterday and should be in hand soon.

Awesome!!! It is a beautiful book. Maybe that helped in the grading. I bet they don't see many of these in such nice condition.

Just got my TMNT #1 First Print back an hour ago. All three grader's agreed on the 8.5 grade on the TMNT#1. Yes, I'm surprised. But hey, I'm not going to argue with it.

Here's a short slideshow of it encased. Ready to sell (though it'd me my last resort) in the case of an emergency.
