| Alright, I purchased a copy of Uncanny X-men and Teen Titans and was more than a little disappointed with its condition. I didn't know the CPG value, but I knew that $3.99 'buy it now' was probably a little low, even with another $3.00 for s&h. BUT, I figured I would nab it since the description had it as ' Very Fine+ ', just a seller trying to get rid of it and getting what he can for it. After giving a once over I concluded that even a grade of 3.0 was too good , more like 2.0 to 2.5 ... a million lines, spine is porridge, three tears to the right of Phoenix/ above Cyclops... this is a 'reading copy' and nothing more. Here's the thing: I'm at work and can't get on eBay to look at the picture advertising this sale, but I don't remember the pic looking this bad. I could check eBay using my cellphone IE, and it does say 'Very Fine+', so that alone to me should say SLAM THIS JERK ON FEEDBACK . If the pic looks better in the ad than real life (when I check it out in an hour or so at home) I'm going to town on the seller. If, however, the pic looks like real life, am I the one who is 'at fault' for going mainly by the 'description', or should the seller get slammed in any case? Feel free to weigh in, one and all.
.I wont lie, shinedown's version is good, but Lynyrd Skynyrd's is what Jesus, Chuck Norris, Chesty Puller, Ronald Reagan, and my Father listen to every morning when they wake up. -'bobthebanshee' on Skynard's 'Simple Man' (an all-time favorite)

I think I found the listing: "Uncanny X-Men and New Teen Titans #1" BIN $3.99 and $3 for shipping. The description does claim VF+. The pic is a small digital photo, comic still in the bag, but it looks to be in reasonable shape. I don't see any tears, and spine certainly doesn't look like porridge. Caveat Emptor always applies, but if the comic is as bad as you say, how could it be the same one in the pic? Maybe the seller sent the wrong copy?
I just checked the seller's feedback. There are several (more than 5 I'd say) comments about bad shipping and way over grading. Sounds like a loser.
------------- what do I got? see for yourself: http://www.comicspriceguide.com/world/default.asp?m=Speedy-D Thanks to Kree_boy411 I've discovered the Comic Book Realm

Ah, Speedy, you really are fast! BUT WAIT! THERE'S MORE!! (<--not a 'good' woot!) Here's a scan of the comic I got in the mail...
and here's the listing (yes Speedy saw it, but now the rest of you can too)... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&item=270345108976 The biggest thing that pops out is the UPC code in the ad pic... the copy I got has 'Distributed By Marvel Entertainment Group'. Next up is the tears I mentioned before; followed by the ad pic shows the price and everything else shifted to the right by a few millimeters; and no tear on Storm's right arm. The 'ad pic' was totally bogus. This dude is getting the SLAYMASTER HAMMER. (Only slightly less lethal than Herc using Clor's hammer to crush skulls, but effective nonetheless in dealing with eBay villainy.)

| As the world turns I decided to check out eBay for whats good to grab in UXM... and saw I got a reply to my email blast on the seller of UXM/TT. Apologized for the 'mistake', said he has multiple auctions for the same issue, 'realized he sent the wrong copy from what was in the ad... just grabbed the first copy he saw and shipped it'. So I looked up the auctions on UXM/TT, and behold another UXM/TT for auction by the same seller... with the exact same ad and picture! What, I send back el crapola copy back to him at his expense just so he can sell (dish off) the bad one on another unsuspecting buyer? How many copies of this title does this guy have? If he's got so many copies, how the heck did I manage to get the grand-bull-moose-loser on the first try? Fact is, I'm takin' the hit... and so is he. He tried scamming me, got caught and I'm sharing my pain. Hopefully anyone who deals with 'sewalt' and gets scammed will do the right thing... HAMMER HIS @$$.

Speedy-D (2/23/2009) You're not gonna send it back at his expense? I totally would, and if I got the correct copy in a reasonable time frame, I'd leave neutral feedback explain the shadiness, but that he made good\
Wrong move?
I agree with the wonderful Speedy-D. It may be a hassle for you to send it back but $7 is $7. And if the price of its no big deal send it back and get the book you wanted or were promised. I also agree to explain or slam him in feedback with a neutral rating if he makes good on his promise. If he doesn't slam him with the negative. Either feedback left and they won't be happy anyway.
That book is fairly easy to find in near-mint condition for the price you paid for or at least it was a few years ago. I have about 10 of them in nm and I got most of them for $2 or less. I think in the guide/Overstreet they are way over priced in value anyway.
Keep us posted on the outcome SlayMaster

| Alright, here's the deal, and you can take this as you will... I may not have done things in the correct way, and I could be wrong for it, but I offer no apologies in any case. After getting the wrong comic I didn't contact the seller, which is the first thing to do, I went straight to the feedback. (Learn something new everyday...) My temper got the best of me, and I really didn't try to get this straightened out... I just didn't want to deal with the seller. It just really amazed me how I got that POS instead of something even remotely resembling the ad and/or picture. I don't go crazy over purchases that aren't perfectly graded by a seller, just give me a good ballpark figure; I can wait for the merchandise to arrive, I have patience; I can understand a seller forgetting to send the merchandise, I'll send a reminder... BUT grabbing a worthless rag and mailing it off to me in place of whats advertised is BS. I consider it an insult, like I'm not worth the time or energy do a transaction right. Or I'm an idiot who won't know what I'm buying and take what I'm given. When that happens, I lose my cool (and I'm THE AYATOLLAH OF COOL! [inside joke]), and when that happens I don't care if Mother Theresa is the seller on eBay... my wrath will flow. Money is a factor, but I have and will continue to take a loss and move on when this sort of thing happens. This seller may not get hurt by the feedback, but I hope it shocks him. If you screw up, it takes money to fix the problem, and I don't want to dish out another penny to fix your mistakes. Last but not least, and this is after the fact of leaving feedback before sending a personal email voicing my displeasure, this seller has been around for a while, very good seller rating. He replies that he hasn't sold multiple copies often and 'just grabbed the wrong one'. ??? When I look for another UXM/TT, this dudes got the same ad up! Exact same ad! Just how many issues does this dude have? What, I win the 'limp issue' prize, thanks for participating? Amazing how this guy can give a VF+ grade, knows something about the business, and then sends me a VFu copy! (thats 'very f***** up', in case you were wondering) I like the way the s*** copy managed to find its way into the 'buyable' comic pile. So it is and it isn't about the money, Head-Rush. Yeah, I f'ed up. I handled it wrong. Am I sorry? Not in the least. I feel like watching 'My Fair Lady', I need to see my man Rex Harrison play 'Professor Higgins'...

Here's the auction, so we all know who the seller is.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270345108976
Seems he has done some other over-grading in the past. Look up his negs, he claims one auction states the comics weren't in high-grade (the buyer complained about that) and his auction CLEARLY says "comics range from F to NM."
Our lot will suffer a fool many, many more times, I fear...
