My (step)father is the National Tom Mix Look-A-Like so I grew up around a lot of cowboy and western influence. It would almost be sacrilege for me not to say Marty Robbins.
Great poll btw...finally something worth voting for.

Of these I would have to say Vaughan Monroe, followed by Robbins & Cash. The version I'm most familiar with was probably by either The Sons of the Pioneers or Bob Wills. Also, why is there no choice for Scatman Crothers or Deborah Harry? Their versions are also available on youtube.
On a side note, I was playing my Ghost Rider DVD yesterday.

Sorry about the vote selection being limited. Those were just the one's that were easy to find on one page on YouTube. I first heard the Sons Of The Pioneers do the song in my youth, myself. I didn't include the instrumental verses, either. My humble apologies. I could not find Gene Autry's original, though. I have personally been partial to The Outlaws version since the '80's and their album, Ghost Riders.

The Outlaws version has some nice guitar in it.
But despite how rocking THAT makes it, even my 9 year old likes the Johnny Cash version better.

Oh please, you couldn't even turn into Bill Bixby.
