Welcome to the exciting world of robotcat.

I've bought probably more than 2,000 comics over the past 2 years, so I will mix in some of those with my recent purchases. I will also throw in a comic related anecdote every so often. You can read about my comic history in the biography section of my profile.

Just in today Doctor Strange 173 and Moon Knight 1.

I won these as separate auctions from a seller, who had 0 feedback. I was definitely worried about not receiving as I had to file for 2 refunds from paypal last month, 1 of which was from someone with 0 feedback, but since I had successfully received those refunds and both comics were still available for their opening bids of $.99 each with $.50 each for shipping, I decided to throw caution to the wind. Of course, after I had won and paid the $2.98 for the 2 books, I went to mark on my "need" list that I was expecting delivery of DS 173, and since the number wasn't on the list, I realized that I already had it...oh well. It then crossed my mind that I had also received MK 1-6 along with a large Defenders/Master of Kung-Fu lot that I had purchased in December but had yet to catalog...d'oh!

Anyway, it took over 2 weeks, but I eventually received them. The seller had notified me after 10 days that she hadn't seen the paypal payment notice(prob.went to her spam folder like most of mine do), and said that she would send the posthaste, which she did. So now marylandseller301 has 1 feedback.

I put DS 183 at F/VF and MK 1 at VF/NM (I'm a novice grader).

Nice. MK #1 is Sienkiewicz at the height of his I-wish-I-was-Neal-Adams phase. One of the best things about Moon Knight is watching Sienkiewicz's evolution as an artist.

I remember reading and liking the Moon Knight's I picked up in quarter bins in the 80s. I'm going to have add it to my ever growing list of comic titles to complete. I'm off to good start with 1-7,9,12,14,16-19,21.

Here's a nice set of Fantastic Four(43,64,65) that I received a few weeks ago.
I got all 3 $14.99 with shipping. The scan of 64 doesn't do the colors justice.

Cool man. Kirby was just cranking out the product back then huh?

What can I say about Kirby that hasn't already been said? Whenever I finish cataloging/grading all of my comics I'll have to do an artist sort and see how many Kirby's I have. I'd be curious to see where he'd rank in total number compared to the other prolific artists.

Yep, and there was some odd, experimental stuff. My favorite from the run is the issue that looks like it was done on crayon.  That training made Bill S. the best possible artist for the Warlock issues of New Mutants.

Finished grading this lot last night. 41 Fantastic Fours for $6.37 + $12.00 s/h. Most of the comics in the auction were over graded, but at less than $.50 a piece I can't really complain.

Here's the breakdown: (his grades)

151 (VG) PR | 163 (VG) VG/FN | 173 (VF) VF/NM | 177 (VF+) VF/NM | 178 (FN-) VG+ | 181 (NM) VF+ | 182 (NM) VF/NM |
183 (VF) F/VF |184 (NM) VF- | 185 (VF) VF | 191 (VF) VF- | 201 (NM) VF/NM | 206 (FN) FN+ | 207 (NM) VF/NM | 213 (VF) VF- |
223 (FN) F/VF | 225 (VG) FN+ | 229 (NM) NM- | 232 (NM) F/VF | 233 (NM) VF+ | 234 (VF) VF | 236 (VF) VF+ | 239 (NM) FN |
241 (NM) NM | 242 (NM) VF/NM | 245 (NM) FN+ | 246 (NM) F/VF |248 (NM) F/VF | 250 (VF) VF | 251 (VF) VF+ | 252 (NM) NM- |
253 (NM) VF/NM | 260 (NM) VF+ | 261 (NM) VF+ | 263 (FN) FN/VF |272 (NM) NM- | 274 (NM) NM- | 282 (VG) FN |285 (NM) NM- |
286 (NM) NM- | GS3 (VG) FN

#177 had a little surprise for me:
George Perez Auto

Here's an assortment of covers by Kirby, Perez, Pollard?, Sienkievicz, Byrne, and Buckler:
