| I am currently working on a Marvel 1982 checklist which I am splitting into three sections, Marvel 1982 that had US Newsstand/Direct Market distribution, Marvel 1982 that had UK newsstand distribution and Marvel 1982 promotional comics. I am currently at letter M and anticipate starting the thread in the the Marvel section before the end of September.

| I paid $5.76 for this. Supposed to be VFN but looks worse. Seems harder to find than the typical 1982 DC. Its in magazine format. I can't find much about it online...

| The Superman Spectacular was not a standard release. Here's some info regarding it courtesy of Bob Rozakis. "In 1981, in response to their German audience's insatiable demand for Superman stories, DC agreed to prepare a series of extra-length episodes exclusively for their German licensee. A portion of the first issue's print-run was published in English and the 48-page album (with cardboard covers, a square spine and measuring 8.5 x 11.5 inches) appeared in U.S. comics shops as SUPERMAN SPECTACULAR # 1. "The Startling Saga of Superman-Red and Superman-Blue" took its title from the classic Silver Age imaginary tale but Bob Rozakis' plot took off in an entirely different direction. Paul Kupperberg provided dialogue and Adrian Gonzales and Vince Colletta were the artists. Over the next few years, DC used several more of the German-audience stories in their U.S. titles but this was the only one to use the graphic album format."
