| Hi guys I have around 107 Jack kirby comics generally from between 1970-80. 80% of them are in a plastic sleeve and are in good condition...from what i've seen on here....probably around 7.5-9 (estimating obviously). I'm just wondering what to do with them, I don't really want to sell them yet but I'm thinking should i at least get them graded and protected better? Is it really worth getting them formally graded and is there much of a market/interest in these comics? Here's a selection of titles are below and the issues range...: The Sandman (#1-6) The Eternals (#1-18) The Demon (#1, 9-16) Superman's Pal Jimmy Olsen (15 different issues around #140) Superman (#339,345,346) 2001: A Space Odyssey (9 issues in the 1st 12) New Gods (10 issues in the 1st 10 inc 1st issue and 2 x 2nd issue) Omac (#1-10 inc 2 x 1st and 2nd issues) Justice inc (#2-4) Forever People (#1-10) Machine man (#5) Devil Dinosaur (#1) Atlas (#1) Kamandi (#25)

You'll get different responses from folks here about getting comics graded by CGC. I'd say that in general, for the type of comics you're talking about, it wouldn't be worth it. I've got a lot of the issues you list, all bought this year, for much less than the cost of grading. Your comics aren't worthless by any means, but neither are they super high value, super scarce, anything like that. If you had them in 9.6 or 9.8 that'd be a different story, some collectors are fanatical about super high grades.
Take a look at ebay, find some issues that seem to be in about the same condition as yours, and see what they sell for. I can tell you that I personally have gotten all of the issues of The Demon, New Gods, Forever People, etc., for a couple dollars a piece, most in at least 7.5 condition. I'm not sure, but I think grading costs at least $20-something per issue, and you're just not gonna get that kind of markup for the plastic case.
Finally, I don't believe that the CGC case is archival quality. If you just want to take care of your comics, get some Mylar or Mylites2 bags and Full Back acid-free boards from somewhere like http://www.comicsupply.com.
------------- what do I got? see for yourself: http://www.comicspriceguide.com/world/default.asp?m=Speedy-D Thanks to Kree_boy411 I've discovered the Comic Book Realm

Cheers matey Yeah the only issues that seemed to be worth much were the Superman's pal comics and when i looked into the CGC fees i was pretty gutted to see that it could cost more to grade than the comic is actually worth. I think a few could be over 9, unforchunately most of the Demon ones are a little more lower as i couldn't help but read them as a kid
