| I've loved this guy's art since I saw my first Hulk book at 4 years old. My Mom wouldn't buy the book for me because she thought it was garbage. Well years later, I get a chance to meet him at Baltimore Comic Con 08. He was so nice and the poor guy was sketching his butt off on an empty stomach. It's not a great photo but here's what I've always wanted. BTW, I freaked him out when I told him I liked him more than Kirby.

Hey man, congrats on that. I gotta tell you, I've never really bought into Herb Trimpe. I always thought of him as a Kirby wannabe. But to each his own. My comics art hero is Carmine Infantino, and I've received more than my share of criticism from those who know no better (I guess that'd be me in the Trimpe realm huh?). I'm heading to the NY convention with the express intention of meeting Carmine and scoring or commissioning something Flashy from him.
You musta be psyched to meet the man, eh? I'm counting the days to next Friday.
edit: O, and that picture is pretty cool.

Oh yeah dude, dead on. I liked Herb first, then Jack. Kirby's books were sooooo much better though. I don't know, Fantastic Four or Godzilla? Old Herb got the short straw, but he did draw Wolverine first! That's pretty cool. Hope you have a blast next Friday with Carmine, another great.

| That's how Hulk should look And it's how Herb artwork should look. Now you just need a Romita Spidey and a Kirby Cap to round out the Marvel Universe

| I feel sorry for Herb. I saw some of his work form the mid-90's in the FF (annuals) where the inker (and I'm blaming the inker and editorial) made his stuff look like Rob Liefeld. I know Herb can draw feet and proportionate bodies. It made me sad. Infantino was awful on Star Wars. I haven't seen his older DC stuff.

Now you just need a Romita Spidey and a Kirby Cap to round out the Marvel Universe The only thing I can say about Romita/Kirby is....I WISH. I saw a Kirby piece last year and it's price, whew. Funny story, a friend owns a comic shop. An old man walks in with original Kirby art but the pages had been glued to something else so the backs couldn't be checked (they say Kirby never cleaned his board and page back should show it). This was my friends story, I wish I was there to see it. I would have bought for sure. And you're right about the Trimpe Hulk, the way he should be!

However, he's a pastor and was in New York after 911 helping people. He also wrote a book about it.

Believe it or not, I've had a total change of heart on Herb Trimpe. I met him at the NY Convention today, he seemed like a really cool guy and had some nice drawing sitting around. I wound up commissioning a piece from him, gonna pick it up tomorrow. I'll definitely put up some pics for you Mo, you should be pleased.
