This might be related to the question asked about #199 elsewhere on this forum, but I'm not positive.

I haven't collected comics for a long time, but during some recent inventorying of items in the house, I came across the comics and decided to flip through them to bring some memories.

There are about 1,000 of them and two of them are X-Men 163. Once has the 60-cent cover, but the other has a 75-cent cover.

Seeing them reminded me of the circumstances of getting them both.... long since forgotten until I saw them again.

The covers are exactly the same except for the numbers. There's no difference at all that I can spot.

Does anyone have any ideas why the different amounts?

Both were in the same rack at a convenience store.... purchased many many years ago.

$.75 is the Canadian newsstand price. Was the store on the border?

Aaron is correct - and you can find out a lot of info about all the kinds of variants over at stlcomics.com, they are quite knowledgeable about just such things.

Yeah.... everyone first thinks of the "Did you get them in Canada" idea..... but no... purchased in High Point, NC across from what was then the High Point Mall in what was then a 7-11 type convenience store. LOL

Both appear to be exactly the same comic (including the publishing data on the first page) with the exception of the price.

Here's a FLICKR link comparing the two. Thoughts?

$.75 is the Canadian edition. Doesn't matter where you bought it.
