I don't care what they do as long as it is done well.

A lot of recent stuff isn't done well and that is why I stick to my 80's indy back issues. The added bonus of costing less than a quid so even if it is rubbish it cost less than a quid so who cares

What if this were heaven, wouldn't it be Hell?

I grabbed Adventure Comics #0 and in the Origins and Omens  back-up spot it features a story with Lex Luthor and Brainiac. It's pretty short, but effective. The art is descent enough. Luthor and Brainiac are escape prision and there actions are being watched by a bald female Guardian that had been once burned by the touch of the Anti-Monitor. Her pupils reflect the symbol of the Black Lanterns and though as an Oan she has never taken a name, soon the other Guardians will come to know her as 'Scar'.

'Scar' is reading the tale of Luthor and Brainiac in a huge floating book. Black fluid oozes from her eyes and onto the book making images appear in her head. Brianiac is seemingly the tool of Luthor in the escape. They find Brainiacs ship in storage and at that time Brainiac turns on Luthor, choking him up a bit and essentially telling Luthor than he is no pawn and has a gradn plan of his own.

To qoute Scar as she reads : 'The Book makes no mention of Brainiac... No. There is another Luthor will have control over... But he is dead, and we control the dead. For once I bear witness to the Book of the Black... and I question what it shows me. The dead will save you Lex Luthor. From Brainiac. From Superman. And from yourself.'

Here's some pencils of a few of those pages I pulled from Francis Manapul's deviantart.com page. (http://manapul.deviantart.com/gallery/#_featured--2)

Hope you guys enjoy!
