I heard Tom Beland, creator of True Story,Swear to God on a podcast recently make the comment that the book has about 1400 readers. This was really disheartening,as this is one of my favorite books to read every month.

It's not something that's going to ever increase in value, or make a great addition in your collection someday, but if you want to read a wonderfully written, heartfelt romantic dramedy, please give this book a try.

I found his website for anyone that wants to check it out.Unfortunately, there are no real previews or anything, but you can at least get a look at the art style. I realize it won't be for everyone, but I'm sure that there are a lot of people out there that would really enjoy this book if they gave it a chance.

I know you've mentioned the book before, I've flipped through it at the LCS but didnt see anything interesting.  What is it about?

--------------------------------------------

“I don’t do this for the Commander in Chief.  I do this for my country, and I will continue to do so.”

"They are blind to history's clear lesson, for history teaches with unmistakable emphasis that appeasement but begets new and bloodier war. It points to no single instance where this end has justified that means, where appeasement has led to more than a sham peace. Like blackmail, it lays the basis for new and successively greater demands until, as in blackmail, violence becomes the only other alternative."

"Why," my soldiers asked of me, "surrender military advantages to an enemy in the field?" I could not answer.

It's an autobiography about Beland and his wiffe. They met by chance at a bus stop in Disneyland. He ended up moving to Puerto Rico where she lives(he was white, andfrom California). Hilarity ensues.Along with the occasional really good dramatic moments, like in the latest issue about where he was on 9/11.

Like I said, it won't be for everyone, but there HAS to be someone else on here that would enjoy a book this good.
