| Dang, Speedy...you beat me to it! http://www.comicspriceguide.com/p-issues.asp?t_ID=14685 I will try to fix up the title to make it easier to find next time.

| Oh....before you pick which one you've got, you'll need the HRN. I didn't see this on the cover or in the indicia....do you see it anywhere?

| Sorry...me again. Yours is an HRN 169. There was a Winter '69 and a Winter '71 for that reorder #.... Go with #24 for the title....I'm going to update some descriptions as there were only the 2 HRN 169's to deal with.

| They give everyone a headache I think. (Or at least most people). If you have a copy of Overstreet, they do a fairly decent job trying to give a little lesson on the Classics Illustrated books. Marking as done.

| Argghhh to Classics Illustrated!!!! Down with da Man!!! I feel better now, but I have similar issues finding HRN numbers. For example, I recently acquired 2 editions of #37, and I believe that both are HRN 92, but for the life of me, I cannot find the HRN #. Here is one of them. The comic sorta smells like a 92 at least....

| Inside one of the covers...or on the very back cover...is going to be a list of the stories published up to the time your copy was published...and an order form to order any issues you might have missed, up to that point... The biggest number listed is the HRN which means "Highest Re-order Number"... If your issue is a first printing, the highest re-order number is going to be the same as your issue... If the re-order number is higher than your issue, than it's a later edition (meaning they put out additional issues/titles since your's first came out)...and you look in the indicia for the publication date. The publication date added to the HRN determine which edition you own... Additional notes: 1) Line-drawn covers were on the earliest of the lower numbered titles/issues..."painted" covers were on the later editions/issues... 2) Towards the end of the original publishing by Gilbert...many of the issues had an edition with a thicker, stiffer cover... Hope that helps...

Thanks for the lesson, Shadow. I now have my recently acquired Classics all sorted out properly. As a side note, I would like to thank you and Argus, as well as some others. The information I gather from CPG and this forum make me a better Comic Bookie with each day, and I appreciate all the hard work and open discussions!!!
