  I have to admit I'm a natural cherry picker. Usually, buying stuff like this would have sent my Spider-Sense into a five-alarm state, but I kind of liked the covers, so it wasn't too bad. Besides they weren't too expensive. I just checked their value and they are actually the most valuable HULK (2008) comics out there. The Hulk #2 is woth nearly $50, and the #9 is worth nearly $80. I checked ebay, and they are both selling for waaaayyy more than I paid for them.  It wasn't so bad. Thanks for the advice Big J.

  Here's one I've been looking for in a high grade for a while now. I was always able to find it in a pretty high grade, but not for a price that I was willing to pay. Well...I just bought it for....$1.69!!! NM/M and unread. It's the Dark Horse 1998 Annual, the 1st appearance of Buffy the Vampire Slayer in comics. Check it:

   I am by no means an expert, but I know what I want, and how I want it. No matter how much I want something, I will not be bullied by anyone or anything (my own desires included) into making what I consider a bad buy. What is a bad buy? A bad buy is when you browse ebay the week or month after you buy a comic and watch it sell for less in the same condition or better than that for which you bought it. THE HORROR! I see it happen a lot, but more so with action figures. Remember the rush towards the end of last year for those Iron Man action figures with Captain America armor? They were selling for $30-35 on ebay. Insane. I didn't even consider buying one (but you know that I love Cap! I wanted it bad). Look now. You can grab one for $15.99. I bought mine for $12 about 4am, 2 days before Christmas. The same night, I went to  Toys R Us for some last minute X-Mas shopping and found one there for $10.99!! I was so angry. So I bought that action figure and sold it on ebay for $22. At least I recouped most of my money. What it boils down to is that I spend only on what I want, when I want, at the price I want. On the other hand, I also know when the merchandise is rare and valuable enough not to argue over the price. You just have to know that you are going to get what you want, you may not know when, but you will get it. Collecting comics is like finding a good woman: it's slow going, and difficult, but oh so good when you finally find what you are seeking. Good luck brother head-rush; GO GET 'EM!

  NEWS FLASH!!!!!

   Good news from my lcs!! The owner is willing to give me 10% off of the prices of all statues that I purchase!!! YEAH!! I bought a little drek and earned some major respec[t] (well, it had to rhyme didn't it?). Big ups to Jesse James for the advice. U da man!

  Ladies and gentlemen, how are you all? In the best of spirits I pray. I'm doing well, and I'm about to have to slow down on my buys for a bit because I am about to enact a major expenditure that may cause my recreational bank account to take on a tinge of vermillion lacquer for a month or so. I have been watching for this comic for a while as well. In VF condition, it could go on ebay for $50-60. I bought it tonight in VF/VF- condition for 99 cents! YEAH!! I am most pleased.

  Tex here. It's been a few days since I last posted. But I'm back! Check out my latest haul:

  I'm going to finish my collection of Platinum Studios first issues. I have to find Kiss4K, and Unique.

  So on an awesome note...I just made a huge purchase! I walked into my lcs today with a certain amount of money and make an offer and I walked out with the complete JLA Build A Scene ($327), and most of the New Avengers Finch variant cover statues (Captain America, Wolverine, Spider-Woman, Spider-Man, and Luke Cage; $76 each). I made a killing! I've already bought the Sentry statue on ebay and I'll buy Iron Man within a couple of days. Pictures are posted in toys section. This purchase is going to slow down my comics purchases but it was worth it!
