We're not done here. I actually did not tell you guys about what I consider to be my best purchase ever! It all began with this obscure and little known comic... I'm sure that you guys won't recognize it :

I bought The Brave and the Bold #28, 29, 30, and Justice League of America vol. 1 #1 for a grand total of.....wait for it.....wait...$615.01!! There wasn't much competition for this win; the seller started the bidding at $499. TEX

 If the last post didn't get you cookin', check out another steal I lucked into. I was trolling ebay, you know, minding my own business when I spotted a listing with 2mins left. It read The Ultimate Ultimate Spider-Man lot. I said to myself, "What have we here?" (you thought that I was going to say I said to myself, "Self....", didn'tcha?). I took a gander and this madman was selling NM/M copies of Ultimate Spider-Man #1 (Direct Edition), #1 (FCBD), #2 (the Variant Jae Lee cover), #3, and Annual #1. OMG! The bidding was still low, about $40. I waited until the auction was 20 seconds from ending and shot out a bid of $51! Yes! I was the high bidder! I clicked the refresh button and some jerk has already outbid me...but oh no! 7 seconds left! Will I score?! I called upon my latent Captain Univers powers. I frantically bid again; my hands flowed over the keys like running water...what to bid, what to bid? I hit i'm hard with the big $80 bid and with one second left to spare I clenched the buy at $74.67!! Check my flow...

SWEET!! Da*n, it feels good to be a gangsta!

   But I don't always win. I lost a sweet, minty JLA#1 (2006) RRP, and a nice Superboy vol. 1 #80 yesterday because I was too slow on the draw. You win some, and you lose some...but my philosophy is this: If you do your best to attain or achieve something and you fail, you get angry, you get over it, and then you go on to the next conquest. You should have heard the choice words I used when I lost those two books. However, I always end up with something better when all is said and done (I didn't say "in the end" because I have seen that used against a fellow board member in the worst possible way ).    That purchase was my best comics purchase ever. I already had a copy of JLA #1, and B&B #29, and 3#0 just sweetened the pot. I agonized over even bidding because the seller started the bidding at $499. No one even bid until the last few hours. I got lucky on this one.
