| Okay this book dropped a couple notches this month I have to say. The inking job on Hitch's work was noticeably worse for starters. The story also went way beyond what it needed in my opinion. It was already a pretty big leap in comic land to buy into the idea of this alternate earth replica but I was going along with the concept at least. The robot unleashed on Earth now though may as well be the Hulk from World War Hulk though. That centerfold page showing just about everyone in the Marvel U lying at its feet was just too much for me. First the thing proved it can zap soldiers into bones with a thought but some how it manages to only render temporarily stunned a group of 40 super heroes? At least some of those people would have gotten fried and it was proven to be irrelevant by the fact they all got up 2 panels later and rushed the thing. I find that kind of writing irresponsible in a lot of ways with what it does to the believability of a story as well as general continuity in the Marvel Universe. Have him kick the FF's *** minus Reed. I'd be fine with that. Have him kick 43 of the most powerful beings in the Marvel U's *** though and I want to see some casualties and lasting injuries of some sort. Heck even a mention of it in another title would be good. I'm hoping the 4th issue in this arc ties some loose ends but I can already see that big brain Reed will sort it all out. I am liking the characterizations of the FF squad under Millar more than anything, its just this arc which is now starting to lose me.

| Icebreaka, I agree with you 100%. You pretty much nailed what bugged me about this issue. I was kind of looking forward to this team up on the book but they kind of "jumped the shark" here.

Rickvig, not sure if you were on the previous boards but I'm glad you got my point. The jumping the shark reference was well placed. Millar can have his fun but keep it in the book without stomping on reality/continuity.

| Was it just me or did Reed look like Grampa Fantastic in this issue?

man i dont know what it is but i just dont like bryan hitchs art. especially in this issue. and i agree that te robot decimated every super hero in 8 mins. and they all chargetwo pages late. also wtf is it with the sentry that guy is a huge f***ing pu**y supposedly the strongest hero in the marvel u. and he keeps getting his butt whooped. i think i am gonna drop this title. in summary this issue sucked. ultimate ff is way better read and art wise is leaps above this.

| I haven't read 616 Fantastic Four in years, but decided to pick up this arc soley based on the creators. I liked the basic concept of the "back-up Earth", but your critiscims of this issue are spot on.I'm not sure if I'll keep picking this one up or not. I'll probably give it another issue or two to see where it goes, but so far I'm not real impressed.

Yup, hate to only echo everyone else, but I'm really not liking this run so far. I do like Hitch's art, but it was really sloppy this time. I'm not giving up on the book yet though, so hopefully this first four issue arc will just be a dud and the next one will step it up.
