The Fuj (1/8/2009)
Boboset (1/8/2009)
Heres another one: Stan Lee created the X-men and explained the naming of the title of the book to convey what about the characters featured? Essentially, why are the X-men called the X-men according to it's creator? uhhh. the extra powers they had? Correct! However, you have refused to answer my original question... not exactly gunning for the trophy are we?

The X-tra power question was pretty easy but I think many confuse the X standing for Xavier, or even maybe eXtraordinary.

| Bobo, Bobo, Bobo... according to the Marvel Masterworks: X-Men #1 preface by Stan Lee, The X-Men was actually partially named after Professor X, mostly for the 'xtra' powers. Question still remains, what was the series original name that Stan gave it (but got shot down)?

In the late 70's, I used to live next door to Jack Kirby. He told my father, while I was playing in the next room, that Stan's "working title" (I didn't know what that meant at the time) for X-Men was "Fun Boys, The."
------------- what do I got? see for yourself: http://www.comicspriceguide.com/world/default.asp?m=Speedy-D Thanks to Kree_boy411 I've discovered the Comic Book Realm

Not the 'answer' in the introduction, but points for trying, Speedy! CLUE: Stan's bosses argued that nobody knew what a mutant was...

WE HAVE A WINNER! ...gotta admit, Stan's bosses had the right idea in getting the name changed. 'X-Men' does sound cooler.
