What's up with the renumbering on this? I'm totally happy/ecstatic they are doing that and I have to trust that the numbers ad up. I wonder if they are thinking of doing that with DD, Captain America, Iron Man or the Hulk?

You know I was going to ask the same question, I couldn't believe they rebooted Thor in the first place. Here's to hoping it sticks. (600, 601, 602 etc etc etc)

| According to the new Marvel Previews they are continuing the 1st series numbering. THOR #601 is listed as the next issue, not #14. 1st series end with #502. 2nd series had 85 issues. That's 587. So the current series' #13 is now #600. And yes I agree, I would like all series to return to the original/1st series numbering. Maybe they are waiting for a big number to come up like they did with this series and Fantastic Four. P.S. If you add the previous 4 Captain America series, 454-13-50-32, with the current one, 45, you get 594. Meaning #51 MAY get the re-numbering treatment as #600 a la THOR. Also the first Daredevil series, 380 issues, combined with the current 114 could mean #120 may become #500.

I'm all in favor of having all the series renumbered to what they should be.
--------------------------------------------“I don’t do this for the Commander in Chief. I do this for my country, and I will continue to do so.” "They are blind to history's clear lesson, for history teaches with unmistakable emphasis that appeasement but begets new and bloodier war. It points to no single instance where this end has justified that means, where appeasement has led to more than a sham peace. Like blackmail, it lays the basis for new and successively greater demands until, as in blackmail, violence becomes the only other alternative." "Why," my soldiers asked of me, "surrender military advantages to an enemy in the field?" I could not answer. - Gen Douglas MacArthur

| Every couple of years, whenever there is an anniversary issue coming they go back to the original numbers to milk in the dough. A little later, they just relaunch the series back to # 1. This seems to go on and on, with Marvel I think they started this with Heroes Reborn? Ultimately, it stinks because in the end they lose readers.

| Slight problem with the math on the re-numbering of Thor though. I could see still keeping in the JiM numbers until it became Thor, at least to a point. But during Heroes Reborn Thor switched back to JiM for #'s 503-521. JiM was then cancelled the month before Thor v2 started. IMO the new numbering at 600 is off. It Should be Thor #619 not #600. 503-513 even featured the Asgardian Gods while Thor was off in the HR Universe.

WELL, THERE WE HAVE IT... NO MORE REBOOTING A SERIES AND JACKING UP THE NUMBERING SYSTEM! (speaking of Thor, anyone around here make emoticons? I want a Mjolnir emoticon; or a little yellow stern face with Mjolnir, have a couple lightning bolts flash above it, sling the hammer out of view, and then have it come back to Thor-emoticons little yellow... body. (gonna say hand but...). Word.

They were numbered 503-521 but it was named Journey into Mystery (1st series), guess since that was were the Thor numbering originally started.
