Oh, and in all my web searching about the Marvel Legends books I found another Uncanny variant which is not listed in the guide.

Uncanny X-men #118

Uncanny X-men #118 Whitman Variant

The top scan is the newsstand edition. The bottom scan is the direct sales edition. The following website documents the 1977 to 1979 direct edition period although they continue to the present day of course with direct copies now more numerous than newsstand editions.

Earl, I am so glad you posted that. The one place I had found that issue for sale was quite expensive. You saved me some serious coin on that one. I knew the slash bar code versus non-slash bar code issues existed, but this style predates those by a few months.

Thanks.

Side note, one of these days I'm going to sit down, scan all my variants and build a visual id guide for UXM. I know several of you guys collect variants, so when the time comes, I'm gonna need help with scans I don't have. But that will take me getting motivated, so no eta currently.

HI Guys this may solve a little confusion. The Beast figure you have listed as with a reprint of Vol 2 #3 has the cover art for UXM 264 with the title Beast heres are pic http://stlcomics.com/gallery/marvellegends/figures/series4.beast.jpg I'm therefore inclined to think they are one and the same.

Thanks GAz, that just leaves UXM Annual 10 to determine if it exists or not.

Earl.

Great find, on the Beast figure. I updated my shopping list. I'll continue looking on the Annual 10.

Edit : Its really good to have people who share in interest in variants to chat with, thanks gang for giving me some top notch knowledge.

During a search for the mysterious Annual 10, I found this gem.

I don't personally view autographs as increasing the value of a book, but I'll make an exception for this one. Pick the Kitty Pryde link.

And just a heads up 510 and 511 will have 2nd print variants. See the covers at the link below.

Has either of you found out anything more to suggest that the annual exsists. Are we simply basing its exsistence at the moment on CGP listings as if been searching the net for hours and still not found anything. I may not be searching for the right thing but before I keep up the search I thought we could all share what we already know about the elusive book.

Yes, I took the listing in the listing in the guide as my only evidence the book exists. I searched through about 50 pages of google results last night and nothing.

My current belief is that the book was added to the guide by mistake. There is a Marvel Legends book that is annual 10 (Avengers Annual 10) and there is a book featuring Longshot (X-men v2 #10). I wonder if someone got mixed up and mentally merged those 2 books into UXM annual 10, which features Longshot.

I wish someone had a copy of the Marvel Legends X-men v2 #10, it might be like some of the other reprints, feature one cover but actually contain a different comic.

I had the same idea. With Annual 10 being the first appearance of Longshot I thought they may have merged the cover of X-men 10 with Uncanny X-men 10. Also is it Avengers annual 10 that has the first appearance of Rogue (I think i'm wrong but i'm not sure). The two sites I linked to earlier are quite comprehensive regards Marvel legends so if there is one its most likely not a toybiz edition. I have e-mailed a very knowledgable collector who is 5 issues (the rarest variants) away from having every version of every uncanny x-men comic to see if he knows. lets hope he can shed some light.
