If you need 2 more cents, here's mine:
I wouldn't have bid on this either. For a bunch of reasons.
1. While it may have seemed to you that you were giving a great deal, 575-600 comics for about $130, to me it seems like I'm paying $130 for who-knows-what.
2. 575-600 comics? This vague number screams to me that you'll be deciding what comics I get after the auction ends. In effect, I don't know what I'm bidding on, and it's big money. Or maybe I'm going to go through them and pick which I want? Without being able to see them? That's complicated and very workable
3. The comics you list are of such varied interests (Barbie & The Hulk, for instance) that I'm thinking a good part of the lot will be of no interest to me.
4. $60 for shipping sounds like gouging. As someone said already, it sounds like you're squeezing a little extra profit out of the "hidden fees."
5. Vague grading. Even if I take your word that about half of the comics are in "better condition," meaning fine to very fine or better, that's a wide range. As grades get higher a comic's value starts to increase more rapidly. Will my copy of Barbie #1 be a F or a VF+?
6. It's just too many comics. Break it into three or even six separate listings, reduce the price of shipping A LOT, and I bet you'll get a lot more interest.
------------- what do I got? see for yourself: http://www.comicspriceguide.com/world/default.asp?m=Speedy-D Thanks to Kree_boy411 I've discovered the Comic Book Realm

Clearly you hope to get some profit in your shipping. I know many people are able to ship via media mail but out of the 3-4 post offices locally that i ship from none of them allow comic books to be shipped as "books" and media mail is seriously not an option A box of 300 comics weighs about 40 lbs max, which should only cost via Media Mail about $16 bucks. a long box of comics weighs closer to 50# and shipped 1st class is a lot closer to $30 than you think. (i used to be able to ship dhl and price was much more reasonable. long story short i broke the lot down in this auction: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=170290337447&ssPageName=STRK:MESO:IT&ih=007 between the cost to list $1.40, the final value fee (somewhere around $1) and the paypal acceptance fee (somewhere around $1) i netted a nice round figure of somewhere around $3.10 for the 55 books i was able to fit into a flat rate "priority" box....even with the "gouging" in price for shipping $10 (cost me $10.50 to ship with delivery confirmation) the price per book was around .30 per book which is still pretty cheap for bronze aged stuff... i'm done with ebay for a while in any case and will try them in the .50 bins when i set up for the next show locally....thanks for all the responses and advice
