Yeah..while Zap #1 and #0 are always going to be the more desirable 1st's in the popular mind, I think Zap #2 firsts are always going to be the most elusive and therefore, down the road, there will be many collections of Zap runs where IT will be the one issue missing and could possibly become the most sought after UG in the collective consciousness, especially when the book collectors really start looking at UG....and to think it was first made an official point on this here board...A salute and a tip of the old fedora to MR. 50 cent II, a mensch among men!

i have put together a nice nice nice run of ZAP & that #2 position is a giant hole in the run. so true what you say.

i keep thinking back to Fogel's booth at SD07 and the signed copies for $400-500... oh man. but... i have time & i will eventually get it... even if i have to pay for it.

Though I did a lot of research on that issue and was the one that contacted Donahue about the info., it was ComixWiz that actually made the discovery that Donahue confirmed with additional info. So an at least an equal share of credit should go his way. Sad to hear he's selling his last Plymell and isn't collecting UG's anymore. Looking forward to releasing my info. on Freak Bros #2 and Big *** #1 some day soon...

Then a toast to CW, as well! I assume your BA #1 info is the page issue at the rear, and the red Crumb box simultaneously,as discussed in another thread elsewhere, but I don't think I'm aware of your discovery re: Freak Bros. #2...will you be elaborating on it here or have you done so in the other place and I missed it, perhaps???

i believe it came up in a thread when when everybody was posting IFCs of their copies... there are 2 1st print copies that have multiple color IBCs (interior back cover), one with a Big Ash #1 ad and another w/ a different ad.  likely a 1st print- 1st/2nd state situation similar to Freak Bros. black tire printings.  that blobbing of ink technique that was used to make the rainbow effect has seemingly produced some strange IFCs & IBCs to hear Donahue describe it.  mine just has green & blue... and Donahue described some where the inks all run together to form a purple.

similarly, there are two copies of BA #1 with the pages out of order... the classic Kennedy/FUG 1st "white box" & a new "red box" copy (likely new 2nd or new 1st print - 2nd state).

I remember the "red box" point with the out of order pages but I don't recall there being a version with the "white box" as well. Where do you recall seeing evidence of that combo? Was it in the BA thread? Or elsewhere? Do you have a white box/out of order specimen?

Having just gone back and looked at the BA thread it appears that it's unclear which is the first according to 50's findings and nobody else has chimed in with anymore evidence as to which would be the true first....so it's still a mystery, wrapped in a cover with large glutes, etc. etc.....

my reading of it was that all "white box" copies have a story w/ the pages out of order.

According to D. Moriarty, the red box with pages out of order is a 1st. I believe the thicker stock white box version with the pages in the same order is actually the 1st. The 3rd and 4th print (both have thinner stock covers like the earlier red box version) both have red box but the pages have been put in correct order. The 5th print on has the pages put in different order.

a seller on eBay who is an underground collector has a Zap #2 for sale which he claims is a first printing with the "offset" Head First page. He even shows a picture of the page in question. However, it doesn't look like it's "offset" to me. Here's a link, judge for yourself:
