Continued from: http://www.comicspriceguide.com/forum2/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=42782

Topic renamed slightly

I recently went premium I have just started to add my collection to the database. As I was entering in some issues last night and grading them and aside from being real pleased with the condition of some of the comics I haven't looked at in quite a while (and resisting the urge of it turning into a reading session) it made me realize it would be nice to have someone elses opinion on the grades. I try real hard to be objective with my own comics and not to look at them through NM colored glasses and usually when I post scans to be graded, I already have an idea on where I think it is and don't say as to not sway the opinion.

Since I'm sure that no-one is going to pop over and have a beer or two and help me enter my collection, I had an idea. Someone randomly choose an issue from my collection with the current grade, I post some scans and people check my accuracy. After say at least 5 opinions I then choose an issue from the choosers collection and they post a scan etc... and so on.

Anyone can join in, it doesn't have to be restricted to premium mebers as everyone can have at least 50. All that is needed is a link to your collection. In order to keep it moving a scan or a reply with the intent to post a scan should be posted within 48 hours. What do you think any takers?

Rotation:

  • Basquiat can then pick one of marmats (currently up, Walt Disney Comics #70 Graded 6.5)
  • marmat can pick one of daytonataz
  • daytonataz can pick one of monstermikes
  • marmat can pick one of monstermikes
  • I don't see daytonataz registered so we can skip him.

I'd be ok with 6.5 or 7.0 but its tough with those creases even though they don't break the color.

Dropping your pants will not get you comics.

I don't know...the creases, the writing on the cover and the attempt to erase it...hard for me to give it a FN, maybe a 5.5.

Not unanimous at all. Grades varies between 5.5 and 8.5, I'll go in the middle and give it a 7.0

I'd be ok with a 7.0. I really do want to go higher, The corners are nice, the color is nice.

Writing shouldn't effect at that grade but semi-erased writing may since it is a lot of colour loss.  The worst bit is the crinkle from the spine to the tail. Personally I'd go with a 6.0 on this one.

What's in my long boxes? http://www.comicspriceguide.com/world/default.asp?m=icebreaka
