What is the preferred way to ship comic books after an auction sale?

TIA!

First-class mail if 13 oz. or under, Media mail for over 13 oz. and Priority mail as an option for any size package. Personally, I prefer to ship first-class mail whenever possible. It is actually cheaper (and much more efficient) than media mail for one or two books.

CGC's shipping recommendations are always a good place to start:

* We recommend that you place each comic carefully in a Mylar or bag WITH a backing board

* Place no more than five books in a group between two firm pieces of cardboard and then secure the cardboard around them to provide firm support on top, bottom and sides of the comics. CGC does not recommend taping the books directly together, but rather wrapping them in a plastic bag or paper and then taping that together securely.

* Pack these in a BOX with plenty of cushioning material all the way around.

* Secure the box according to USPS guidelines. For USPS guidelines, please consult your local Post Office.

THESE PACKING INSTRUCTIONS ARE RECOMMENDATIONS ONLY. YOU MUST DECIDE THE APPROPRIATE LEVEL OF PROTECTION FOR YOUR COMIC BOOKS

Edited for content (we don't care about CGC's forms) but this is where I start. I put the comics in a cheap storage bag and tape all that up tight, tape THAT to one piece of the "cardboard sandwich," and then sandwich it and wrap that in bubble-wrap before putting everything in a box.

As stated above, all these are only recommendations.

When I ship comics...I'll use these-

Thickest cardboard I can find x2 (cut so it's bigger than the comic)
Bubble wrap
Bag & Board the comic (unless it's a big purchase the comics come without their boards because of the weight).
Bubble Wrap
Tape

I will usually try to throw in some extra packing peanuts to help the package on it's destination.

The bubble wrap goes around the comics and then I place the cardboard over that. I sometimes will wrap more bubble wrap around the cardboard if it will allow it.

I've never had any complaints about the way I handle my books when it comes to packaging.
