Do comic values go up when the new overstreet addition comes out?

I was just wondering how it worked.

Any price guide's release has no impact on comic values in general.

Now, if there is a comic that has gone up in value, and is updated as such in a price guide, you may be able to see a general rise in value as people will look to the guide rather than their own research.

That's the problem with a guide.  It can artifically inflate (or deflate) the value of a particular issue by distorting market values.

Oh well...it's the best system we've got right now (except for THIS price guide here...we are perfect. )

So the answer to your question is no.

Well, I think GPA is the best system we have right now. OS is good, but not judging true current market value. OS might be okay from a macro stand point. Looking at OS prices in 5-10 year generalizations is good, but anymore specific than that and it losses it's accuracy. And as well, it is a "guide". It is only supposed to give general values, not specific fair market values.

King is the man! but the only problem I have with GPA is that it only applies to:  certified comic book sales... so to me it is only applicable to high end CGC graded books...
