Damn..
It was a hell of alot better than i expected.
This one isnt classic...but it ranks up there as a great Joker story.
Writting is great.
Art is beautiful.
And the Joker is crazier than usual...even though he was ***Semi Spoiler***....................

................***willfully released from Arkham***...thats about all im going to say as far as a Spoiler...

Excellent read. Don't expect the classic or modern joker of the DCU though, the Joker in this story is the Dark Knight Movie version and is portrayed perfectly in this book. I think it's a natural progression to portray this version of the Joker in the DCU and wouldnt mind seeing only 'this' Joker from now on if consistently handeled this well.

Considering how long they have been working on this book, wouldn't it be safe to say the Joker in Dark Knight is the Joker Book version?

Not a classic? Not by my accounts, as the JOKER by Azzarello was the best read of the year.
What are your thoughts on Variant covers. I remember in the late 80's and 90's, they used to put out these multiple cover issues and it drove me crazy and confused collectors. SO I got out of collecting. Now that I'm getting back in, I'm seeing these variant covers again. Is this different from the 80's system? Is it worth collecting Variants, or are they just a gimic that will devalue over time?
ANy thoughts?

| Yeah, I'm going to have to give this "classic" status too. Maybe not read of the year for me, but for sure in the top 3 or 4. I'm not usually a huge azarello fan, but this was great.

I picked it up and I guess the thing is...... that this is an EXCELLENT story about the Joker. It's about time Joker was "modernized"!
