Okay....here's the facts to date...

Some people can't stay logged in...
Some people have no problem with it and aren't being involuntarily logged-out...

If it was just individual computers with a conflict...the suggestions given to date would have had some effect...
If it was inherent to the forum programming...it would be happening to everyone...not just half the members...
So it could be a combination of both! Welcome to every computer geeks' nightmare!...

I've searched the web and found one and two year old references to people loading this forum software and having a similar problem...I've got emails into all of the webmasters to find out how or if they fixed the problem...When they reply you'll be the first to know...

Bryan is in contact with the forum software developers and they are looking at different cookie programming options to see where the conflict may be...this may take a while to work through the options....

It's not just this forum software...
In searching the web I found instances of similar problems with every forum software program available...
Some of them had solutions...unfortunately, none of the solutions have been for the same programming platform that this software is built on...so far...

While we are hammerin' at this thing, any suggestions or web/forum experiences you may be familiar with would be most appreciated! Any additional info searches you come up with that apply would be taken under serious consideration...

So far I've used a generic "keep getting logged off the forum" search in Google to come up with what we know so far...but if we spread out there like an army of ants...maybe....

BONUS!  If you come up with the solution/a link to the solution before Bryan discovers it......I'll give you a three (3) year premium membership to the site...

Post your findings/solutions here. If you can't log-on long enough to post, send it to my personal email: cpg_shadow@comcast.net
If you email it to me...Include your forum ID so I know who I'm talking to...as well as your real name to prove you are who you are...

We're going to figure this out for the good of all comic fandom!

I will add this bit of information to the pot.

Of all the places/boards I go, this is the only one I have ever had to log in to more than once, unless I change computers and thus my IP address. I have been logged in on GameFaq's since 2006 and have no issues whatsoever. Same with the other sites I frequent.

Okay...along with where you are located...state-wise that is......

...if you get logged out...could you make a note of the local time...so we can eliminate the idea that it may be connected to our working on the server itself...

Also...some of you have said that you get logged out when you go from page to page...or if you use your back button...
...the next time that happens...refresh your page and see if it logs you back in...(that's worked on some of the other forums)...and it will help narrow down the path that may be causing this anomoly...

If at anytime you can not get a messege posted here...feel free to rattle my cage at cpg_shadow@comcast.net

10:05 PM EST... I just reset the config file to point directly to this folder.

So, anyone on, you probably did get kicked out just now. That is a normal thing when the config file gets reset.

But, hopefully (once again) this will be an answer to our problems for future sessions.

Bryan has done some reprogramming of the cookies code.

If you continue to have problems...pleae be sure to delete any old cookies and re-log on with new, fresh cookies...

Let's see if this fixes the problem...

I'm in Canberra, Australia.  I've always had the problem with getting logged out but perhaps not as quickly as some others in here.  I've also noticed that when I try to delete a thread I've created that it logs me out straight away and it doesn't get deleted.

This is going to sound really stupid, but I've just spent the last few minutes trying to logoff...and it won't let me.
