Give him 5-8 years, he'll be back.

Not that I'm a big Opus fan but I read it every Sunday.

Anyway, I wish some of the other long running (and extremely unfunny) comics would go away! I can't stand Doonesbury, Cathy, Marmaduke, Heathcliff and probably a few more that I can't think of right now...oh yeah Prince Valiant.

Make way for some new blood and fresh ideas! Go ahead and hate on me becasue I want your favorite comic gone.

Every year...right after Thanksgiving...the kids and I sit down to watch our favorite Christmas season cartoons on video or DVD...

Opus in "A Wish for Wings that Work" is always number 2...right after "A Charlie Brown Christmas"...and just before " BC Christmas"....

As the kids grow up and leave home...the wife will just have to put up with the ol' fart in the living room watching the Christmas cartoons...

Too bad. There were some good strips in this version of Bloom County/ Outland/ Opus. The strip did take up a good portion of the Sunday paper, he demanded it. It's likely to be replaced with two strips in the papers that carried it. But I like the idea of new strips given a shot. Simply cannot stand to have reruns like Peanuts and For Better Or Worse, even though they were good. Buy the books, let new blood in. I'd be happy to donate a pint or two.

They replaced "Opus" with "Pickles" in our local paper.

I don't read the Sunday strips, heck, I don't even read newspapers... I have the internet. But I used to have all the Bloom County TPB books, the funniest Sunday comics ever made. (Had them in storage while globe-trotting in the Army, found out it was raided one day. Dammit.) Can't find the TPB's anymore, that's just bogus. Oh yeah, Steve Dallas (original version) is one of my idols.

.
I wont lie, shinedown's version is good, but Lynyrd Skynyrd's is what Jesus, Chuck Norris, Chesty Puller, Ronald Reagan, and my Father listen to every morning when they wake up. -'bobthebanshee' on Skynard's 'Simple Man' (an all-time favorite)
