All of Ebay's new "policies" is the reason I stopped selling on Ebay. The feedback system and the DSR's plus the hike in fees. Sorry but it's just no worth it anymore. Before they made all theses changes I was a Silver level powerseller and had been for over 4 years. Now I just list occasionally and that's it. I still use it to buy but my days of selling over 5 grand a month are done....D

That 4.3 sounds pretty high, should be about 3.7 or 3.8 ... as pointed out, 4 stars is still good, just not excellent service.

As to the sellers, I'd say 95% of the ones I've dealt with are on the up and up; the other 5% (two) are shady. One guy I'm currently dealing with says he shipped UXM #145 two weeks ago, I still haven't got it, and he immediately tried to get me to go for another issue. Not confidence inspiring, I want what I ordered. If a seller forgets to send something, just own up to it, I'm cool; if you jerk me around, I'll hammer you.

As for those jerks that are never satisfied (whom KoR refers to) f 'em... worlds full of 'em, just hope an a-bomb lands on 'em one day.

.

I wont lie, shinedown's version is good, but Lynyrd Skynyrd's is what Jesus, Chuck Norris, Chesty Puller, Ronald Reagan, and my Father listen to every morning when they wake up. -'bobthebanshee' on Skynard's 'Simple Man' (an all-time favorite)

I'm becoming alarmed as well. I had great sales pre-holiday, but also had in the past 2 months, 4 buyers who never paid or even replied to my invoices and winning bid notices. And that's not a big deal in itself, but when I went to leave feedback on those non-paying buyers, it comes up as "possive feedback left".

This is the perfect example of how sellers are losing support from Ebay against bad buyers. All I got is a credit on the listing fee's.

Hello. First post, hopefully not the last.

If I remember correctly, my email from eBay, stated, if your feedback goes below 4.8 you loose your power seller status, until you can bring your average up again. (that is not an average that is in one category). But it may have been if 2 categories go below 4.8. this is not to say you can't still sell though. Seriously though, power seller doesnt mean much. Maybe the personal rep for CS is a nice perk, but nothing to write home about.

I used to be a silver PS on eBay then I got so stressed out with the rules changing fees escalating, scam artists pulling fast ones left right and centre. I just gave up on volume selling in 07 sometime. but now I find myself in a situation that I need something to do, so I have started listing again...Just comics.

So is ebay still doing the 4.3 rule. I feel terrible that I gave 3 to 4 stars on average transactions. I just wanted to reward the really good sellers with the 5 star but unless I am extremly dissatified I wont do less than 5 until ebay changes it. BTW as a buyer I really enjoy Ebay. Seems to be alot of good deals

Everything on my DSR is above 4.6, EXCEPT S&H... and I only charge to the next rounded-up half-dollar! I have charged $3 for $2.65 Media Mail shipping, and gotten 4 stars or lower.....

Grrrr.........................

There is the other side.

I am a buyer not a seller.

I have bought from Sellers on e bay and sometimes I have been very disappointed.

In one case it was a cheap book but had no cover -the picture on e bay showed a cover.--it was a complete rip off.

I wrote  ebay and was told it had to be over $1000 to get repaid.

I gave the Seller  terrible marks but so what.

So I stopped buying from e bay because I have no way of knowing who is authentic-maybe that is why they upgraded.

I prefer paying more but knowing that the grading is accurate.

Well, in your one case, the seller deserved the bad marks. I just had a seller ship me something and charged me $7 S&H - the item was sent in a Priority Mail Flat-Rate envelope, which costs less than $5. I gave overall positive feedback, mentioned the high S&H in said FB, and nailed them with one star on the S&H category.

My point is, my descriptions are DEAD accurate. My communication is professional-to-downright-friendly. I ship within the 2-3 days claimed in my auctions, and usually via Priority which RARELY takes 3 days to get across the country. And I don't over-charge for S&H, because if you add up tape, razor-blades, bubble-wrap ( I've had to buy wayyy too much of this stuff lately) and even printer ink, I probably lose a little $ on my shipping charges.

I just don't see how I could ever have a 4.6 average on the S&H category...

Sorry... ..... /rant
