It wouldn't surprise me if he wasn't aware that he had messages in his eBay in box. My account never lets me know when I have a new message (where-as my buying account does), but I still can't believe he wouldn't check it every so often just in case. That just seems irresponsible. Keep us updated! (And thanks for the compliment, hon!)

Let's not be so quick to give this seller a free pass. I gave up dealing with him years ago. Not only was the delivery time v-e-r-y   s - l - o - w-w-w-w, but once the books arrived, they were invariably vastly over-graded (i.e. - an advertised 9.4 turning out to be a 7.0 was typical)! As far as I'm concerned, the dodo bird is extinct!! Anyone can be a Power Seller if you sucker in enough people.

  Man borgo,

Now I really hope this works out for me. Really?! A 9.4 down to a 7.0? I am sorry for your bad experiences with him. I'll let you know how this turns out.

Well,

The seller said he'd e-mail me tonight. It is 9:33. Nothing yet.

Guess what? He did not contact me. Go figure. I'll not contact him again, I gather from this experience that it'll be best just to let PAYPAL deal with him from now on.

Hey all,

The seller responded again. He states that he found one in stock, and that it is NICER than the one that I originally bought. He says that he'll send it to me this weekend. If it gets here and it is everything that he promises, I'll be satisfied. What do you all think? If he makes this right, should I withdraw the negative feedback, or no?

As a seller, I would hope you would consider it. As a buyer (like you were) I'd say no way. The negative feedback was left as a last resort to voice your opinion on and to this seller. It's also the only way you were able to get this seller to respond to you. He's a power seller with tons of feedback. It didn't kill his percentage and in a week it will be buried on page 3 or 4.

 Thanks DeadOne,

I appreciate the two points of view. I guess sometimes buyers and sellers can feel equally powerless. That is to say, sellers feel that they are at the mercy (sometimes) of the buyer because of the power of feedback. But in the cases of those who do tons of business, the buyer can end up feeling like a carpet because his tiny bit of feedback is a drop in the ocean. Thanks for the input.

Stay away from dodofive on ebay!

He is supposedly a Power Seller! I purchase Forever People #1 from him on 26 August 2008, and paid for it on the same day. The payment cleared on 2 September 2008, but as of today I have received neither the comic, nor ANY communication from dodofive. Indecent. I contacted him on September 17th, 18th, and 22d, and I received no response. I filed a dispute on 24 September, and waited 24 hours for a response. None came, so I escalated the dispute to a claim 24 hours later on 25 September. Still no response. Doesn't he have big brass ones, then? This is no way to conduct business, and is to say the very least, unprofessional. I will never purchase from him again. Watch out.

TEX

  Well Ladies and Gents,

PAYPAL refunded my money for this item, and the seller kept up his end of the bargain anyway. He still says that he received none of my e-mails, but he had an extra Forever People #1 in VF+ condition that he sent to me free of charge! This was even better than the one that I ordered. He has asked that I consider rescinding my feedback, as this was a terrible misunderstanding. However, he has stressed that I am not obligated to do so, and in fact, that he understands if I do not want to remove my negative feedback. But he asks that I still consider doing business with him in the future. That's a pretty nice, humble response to the situation. I think that I will remove the neg. It only seems right. What do you guys think?
