| Hello again from Planet Zero, Just wondering how much I need to downgrade an otherwise VF- to VF comic due to a faded scrawl across the top (I don't suppose I could be lucky enough to have autographs). I have two pictured below....
Next I have a NM 9.4 copy of a freebie issue, except that a bit of cover color was taken off when it was detached. The remaining original tape was left on. Any ideas on how much it might be downgraded? It is sealed and bagged. I could take it out if I absolutely had to, but I would rather not.
Finally, I have another comic title that I cant find on CPG, could you guys and gals help please? This is a Sept 1966 issue, with no publisher data in the book, or on the cover, and no issue number.
Thanks!!

| Well, Captain. I am NOT the best technical grader. You can review the posts here: http://www.comicspriceguide.com/boards/Forum24-1.aspx You will find different opinions and the like on comics that were scanned. You can also post some of your comics here. Be sure they are actual scans, include front and back cover, and make sure the size is appropriate (see some of the other ones there for format). Don't post every single one, though. Pick something representative of what you have to get a better idea. You can also check out this site: http://www.e-bigs.net/ However, I highly recommend picking up a copy of Overstreet's Grading Guide....it has photo examples and descriptions of what is or is not allowed at a certain grade. Hope you find this info helpful! (Oh, and I'll try to check on those sigs on the covers when I get the chance.....Even if it is a creator sig, it may still not increase the comics value. Some people would even downgrade it for it.)

| Thanks Argus, that site was most helpful. I need to go back and regrade my issues, and that will take some time, but better now than when I am trying to auction a copy, and get a bad rep from having a very wrong grade.

The writing on the cover is probably the last name of whomever the store saved them for. (The writing on the cover of all Lamont Larson copies is just the clerk writing his name).
As for the giveaway it probably grades around G/VG.
Heritage is auctioning the "File Copy" right now and it only grades VG/FN!
