So my neighbor is moving out of the neighborhood and into a hospice with no storage. She's really old and her daughter has to liquidate all of her mother's stuff. They asked me to help sell a few comics. They don't know about comics so I look at the small pile they have in her garage. Okay it looked like crap but fine I'll help.

I tell them to write a description, take pictures and box the books up. They really have to move quickly so they wanted me to pretty much throw the auction up fast! Fine. I write out a general statement and soon they're knocking on my door with a staped up bigger-than-I-expected box in a cart. I start pulling the pictures into my computer to load them to the site and get a surprise...she has books from the 1940's to the 1970's. I check out their description for a list of what's in the box and I get:

"There are over 65+ comics from the 1950's, the 1960's and the 1970's being sold in this auction. I do not know about comics but have gathered these  when they were left behind by my children and grandchildren. Most are in plastic bags. Some are in great condition, some of them are not so good, but these look pretty good for being 40-50 years old! A huge mix, the oldest ones look like Master Comics, Action Comics, and Adventure Comics. There are multiple issues of the Incredible Hulk, Twilight Zone and DC Comics Presents. There are some Spider-Man, Werewolf By Night, Flash, Ghost Rider, X-Men and much much more."

Damn if she didn't make out the list I asked for. I won't go into what all she had but just to give you an idea- Werewolf by Night #32, Incredible Hulk #180, Gasp! #1, Master Comics #111...I couldn't persuade her to sell in smaller lots or even individually...Then a few days into the already started auction she hands me Walt Disney's Comics and Stories from Oct 1946 vol.7#1 in na-hice condition with a worn out Cap America #197! She asked if I could toss these into the box. I'm thinking "Of Course, why don't we toss everything into the lot lady!" Man, am I kicking myself.

So yesterday, she found another book, pictured here...Silver Surfer #1!

I've already posted the comic's pics to the grading side of the forum to see what others are going to grade it so I'm fair to give her what it's worth; my maximum is $200. I do not have this in my collection at all but she's asking me to sell it and the auciton ends Sunday...what should I do? I'm stretched too thin as it is. Should I put it up and wait for another chance in my future or offer her what I can? I just want to be sure I offer her something fair.

Thanks!
