I just bought them both at a comic con for $85

Issue 180 is descent(VG/VG+) would even be better if not for the fact that it has some creasing and looks like it sat folded in half for a while. Cover is firmly attached but is faded some.

Now for the real question???

Issue 181 has the coupon missing and looks like someone had it sitting unprotected for quite a while. There is a lot of creasing in the comic but the cover is still attached. I would like to rate it good but it makes me go ughh with the creasing.

Now for the big question??? Did I over pay or did I get a descent deal?? I mean it is beat up a little, but it should go up in value right??

I would post a scan if I knew how?

I personally would not have given 20 bucks for it w/ the coupon missing. But thats my opinion. As far as value goes check the price guide at the grade it is minus a grade or two for coupon cut out. (i would think, but wait for some seasoned comic valuers to judge)

If it is a really beat copy AND the stamp is cut, you probably paid FMV for it. VG copies are going for $150. So, if your copy is about a 2.0, you probably paid about FMV for it.

Impossible to determine without seeing front and back scans of the book but I'll throw out a guess here.

If slabbed, the book would receive a green qualified label and by your description would probably grade at a 2.0-2.5 which would probably sell for less then $80

If the 180 is around the same grade then indeed you probably paid full value for those two books.

I'm very happy o have these two books in my collection

Most of the time , I'm a cheapstake always looking for bargins. I just don't dish out big bucks for too many comics. Yes I do consider $100 bucks a lot for a comic.

I say post scans of the books if you want to get a true opinion of what others think if you got a good deal or a not so good one

Considering the significance of the books, I'd say it sounds like a decent deal.  There are some folks on this board that anything less then a VF+ is garbage.  Based on what the book normally sells for, and assuming you aren't only interested in high grade copies of books, but rather just appreciate owning certain key titles, then I'd say you got a fair deal.
