Will the old page that currently has the redirect here be eventually scrapped altogether and instead of seeing the old page with the redirect, will it just take us right here? Sorry if this has been answered already.

No, the old page (the old board) will not eventually become the new page (and take you right here). You need to add the new board to your favorites or bookmarks, which will take you "right here."
The old board will always remain the old board (which is to say, the entire defunct board), available for viewing purposes only. The defunct board will forevermore include a link to the new board here, just in case someone manages to stumble into it who has not been to the new board before.
Hope that's not confusing. The point is, please forget about the old board and delete any reference to it in your bookmarks. You can always go back to the old board from this new board (for viewing purposes only) through the redirect listed here.
