Jesse,

YOU GET 30% OFF THE COVER PRICES OF YOUR COMICS?! WOW! May I ask how you do that (but I understand if you cannot reveal a trade secret). The best I could get was 20% from an ebay vendor. My local shop does not offer discounts. But he does give you $10 worth of free goods on your birthday (which is nice of him). Prithee kind sir, woulds't thou telleth a poor street urchin how he might share in the riches and wealth o' the far away country they call Thirty Percent Off Land ?

Tex

Like a lot of members on here he likely has an online ordering service. I've been with the same one for about 18 years (30% off). and have been 100% satisfied:

Somewhere around here I believe there is a thread about various online places people subscribe through and many get even higher discounts than 30% so go ahead and do some research. I'm just throwing the place I go through out there because the service has been flawless and the owner is one of the nicest guys I have ever dealt with. He will also handle a problem, should one come up HIMSELF. You can send in your order, email it or call it in. I often call and place my order so I can ask questions about some comic related items I might be interested in.

Bang Bang

I get my comics out of a little shop in Boca Raton, Florida even though I live in Seattle,wa now.  keep in mind though I buy alot however I think its 15 or more a week and you get 30% anyhow.

There are plenty of companies on line as well but I like the owner and feel 100% secure with my purchases.

If you don't need your comics the same week they come on plenty of on line comapny sell them dirt cheap if they are over stocked.  Especially on M/D comics indy harder to find a good discount.

Ask your local LCS they will want to unload as much stock as possible.

Good Luck.  Trust me though there are plenty out there.  There is a company that 6 stores in the seattle area if you wait about twom months there are 50% off.

Good luck!

Jesse James

I disagree though. Titles like Wolverine, Cable, and Amazing Spider-man, among others were going for $3.99. Those are not tied into the "Big Event" title.

Thanks Jesse and Sherlock,

I will do the research. I just did not know that those kinds of deals were out there for me. I have been depending on my local comic book store for so long that I have stopped looking elsewhere (for the most part). I just did not feel like paying $10 for Batman #676 so I turned to ebay, and a seller offered me a deal that I thought was just out of this world. I even felt disloyal in some way because I was not using my local store. You guys should start your own website, or write a guide; between the two of you there is a wealth of knowledge that has been a benefit to me since I started visiting this site. Thanks again.

Tex

They slip quite a few non "special" event issues in at the $3.99 price point in the regular books and there is a good chance they do it to get people used to paying that amount. Either way whether it's limited series or event tie in books there is a huge amount of $3.99 books out there which makes most people really have to be choosy about what they can buy.

I guess I can understand a small jump to say $3.
