I turn 36 on August 24 and, like the last three or four years, my wife has told me to buy whatever art I want for a certain amount. So, after years and years of searching, I finally found three pages from my all-time favorite Iron Man story, when Tony Stark falls off the wagon and gives the armor to James Rhodes. These three pages are from Iron Man 170, the second part of the story. They're by Luke McDonnell and Steve Mitchell and are on their way, but I thought I'd let everyone see how awesome this birthday present truly is.

Here's the links to the pages:

Please let me know what you think. These are the only pages from this classic 1980s story that I've EVER seen available and I am so glad to finally track them down.

Here is a link to the gallery that includes ALL of the birthday gifts I received this year from my wife:

In there, you'll find the Iron Man 151 splash, the Iron Man 170 pages, the Justice League of America 1-3 from issue 246 (one splash and a double-page splash) and the Deadshot 2 splash.
Tell me what you think!

Hey Mike,

It's always an even greater thrill to acquire work which has sentimental or personal meaning - congrats mate!  I recall that period of Iron Man fondly so you're very lucky to get so many amazing pages as birthday presents   Best,

Royd
