KingOfRulers (4/9/2008) She bought them from Mile High. That is a tip off right there that whatever offer you make, it will not be high enough. Yep, hard to find someone with prices as high as MH. Buying from someone who bought from them with hopes of flipping the books is very poor plan.

But hey at least it got PEP out of the house and out of his comfort zone! Seriously though ya I don't think you'll make money off these with the cash she wants. Your only hope is that she's totally desperate for cash so if your lowball offer is her only hope she'll maybe take it.

| I would pass, the chances of you making more than a minimal profit are slim.

What I'm going to do is offer her $80 for 3, 4, and 5 and see what she says. I'll probably wait until Sunday to get back with her.

Emphasise that if the books were realistically priced in the first place, she would have sold them already and that you're doing her a favour by taking them off her hands.

| Hey guys, instead of me starting another thread I wanna ask your advice right now. This guy has this one for $40. What do you think? I'm thinking I should because of the movie coming out and I could sell it right quick. Here is what he said about the back cover: I've attached an enlarged scan of the front cover. We're in the process of getting our house ready to sell so with my scanner in storage, I won't be able to get you a scan of the back cover any time soon. Looking the back cover over, the main things that stick out are tanning along the edges and a small moisture stain at the right bottom edge.
And yes, the cover is firmly attached. Let me know if you have any other questions or if you have any problems with viewing the attached scan.

| That looks like rougly a 3.5 but it really depends on the size and severity of the small moisture stain on the back. That might knock it down a full grade or more. Worst case scenario you might pay guide for it though. Probably worth it.

I think that was a very good buy PEP. I'd certainly pay $40 for IM #1 in that shape.

Can't really tell you if its a good deal or not as I don't buy any books from that series. That piece missing on the bottom is pretty severe IMO and would probably knock it down to a 3.0 if the moisture stain on the back is significant. All in all i'd say you paid a tad below guide but may be able to flip it for a small profit. Its all gonna come down to how many other books are up for bid and what grades are available.
Dropping your pants will not get you comics.
