without decent scans or grades i don't see how anyone can say how much they would pay for them...D

I'll be interested to see what Pep says they looked like. Fair to Good is a pretty broad range.

just by looking at the small scans he posted thats as high as i would go......if he were not going to have them in hand too look at i would say dont even bother...but he's not buying them blind as you would off ebay so i would say its a fair assesment....he can take it from there when he sees them...

If he were buying on trust alone off those pictures i would say pass........but hes not......he wanted a ruff estimation......not a spot on "Hey what are these worth!".....

I'm back guys, I'm working on the post right now.

Alrighty guys I met her at this hippie/pop culture type hangout with a bunch of teenie boppers/early 20s crowd.  I was like the oldest person there, I felt like a dirty old man!!!  Not to mention I got there 10 min early and had to sit there waiting.

She told me she decided to start collecting comics around when the Spiderman movies came out and wanted to get the full X-Men run, how Spiderman made her to want to get the X-Men run I dont know.  So she bought these from Mile High Comics and she said she paid about $200 each for #s 3 & 4 alone.  And she was in bad shape financially right now and needed some extra cash.  So I offered $150 and she said $200.  We talked back and forth and I told her I would get back with her on it.  I dont even know if my offer was too high, I dont plan on keeping these, I want to end up trying to sell them for a profit.  Thoughts guys???

Anyways.  Here we go, remember I dont know the first thing about grading:

#s 3, 4, and 5 I would say are in VG condition with some spine wear.  I think #4 was in the best condition of the 3.

#s 10 and 12 were probably in Good condition with #10 having some chipping on the top cover and both had a lot of wear on the spine.

Oh and I know I regret this now but I took my digital camera with me because I wanted to get some pics for you guys but there was so many people in there I felt really out of place taking pictures of comic books.  lol.  Hell we were getting looked at weird because we were looking at comics in the first place.

She bought them from Mile High. That is a tip off right there that whatever offer you make, it will not be high enough. In VG #3 will probably get your around $100 or so. #4 and 5 will likely fetch you about $60-$100 each on eBay. I think you probably made your initial offer too high. I'd tell here I want #3-5 for $100 total. Any more than that, and it is more work than it is worth.

You know what, the more I think about it the more I think 3 & 5 are in Good and 4 in VG.  I wish I knew more about the grades.

I would just pass....Its a hit or miss if you would even get that much out of the books when flipping them if they are that iff'y grade wise.......If you were going to keep them...i would say negotiate if you really want them....if your looking to sell....i wouldnt take the risk....but thats just my opinion...
