Not sure if its the same company or not but I talked to a guy at a local con a year or two back and they had tons of these things that they were giving away at the con. I think I got about 10 different issues between me and my son. They came with a mini magnifier glass to help read them or the glass case worked like a magnifier glass.

Those sound like the Komikai mini's.... They did quite a run of Ultimate X-men and Ultimate Spidey...as well as other key Marvel issues... Some issues are hard to find...full cases aren't too tough...but they don't have a complete set in any of the cases...
